Feedback
Feedback from current and past students is perhaps the best indication of how satisfied they feel after attending the yoga programs that I offer.
Level 1 Yoga Feedback
I have been practicing yoga for 7 years, all of those years have been with Subhash. I first started yoga due to back problems (a spinal fusion in my teens turned into scoliosis as an adult). Daily yoga practice has been extremely beneficial, transforming my daily pain from a 7 (on a 1 – 10 scale) to 1, sometimes 0.
Three years ago I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Subhash has been with me every step of the way, from making sure I don’t over-do it, to modifying exercises for my level of ability. Over the last three years, I have had many doctor visits and my doctors are pleasantly surprised with my energy, positive attitude and maintenance of my disease. I attribute all these positive factors to yoga and having a wonderful teacher.
I would greatly encourage anyone with a disability to start practicing yoga, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
– Kerry Gorman
Subhash does an excellent job of teaching integral yoga based on his many years of experience. He emphasizes the fundamental yoga concepts that come from Patanjali’s ‘Yoga Sutras’, giving his classes a historical context. His yoga classes provide a great foundation for developing a yoga practice of one’s own.
– Don Asper
“I took integral yoga classes taught by Subhash Mittal for 2 years. The integral yoga approach clearly emphasizes that yoga is much more than asanas. And Subhash is a wonderful instructor full of deep insight into the practice — whether it be new asanas or breathing practices, yoga theory, cleansing practices (like jal neti), etc.”
– Harteg Wariyar
I must say that your class had brought my awareness of yoga to a different level. My physical condition became better as I concentrated on my breathing and what food I was putting in my body. I greatly enjoyed the guest speakers that you had in your classes and still tell others how much I had learned in these discussions. I was amazed at how knowledgeable these people were but still very humble. There was something very special about you and the energy of the class that I have not quite experienced again.
– Lorie Betancourt
Subhash is a true yogi and inspirational teacher. He included asana practice, pranayama as well as instructing on the philosophy of yoga. He is missed and cannot be replaced!
– Shanti (Lisa Hapeman)
We will always remember fondly your yoga classes. Not only did we learn the basic and advanced poses, but you helped us deal with life in general, particularly in dealing with stress in our lives. You are very helpful in the classes, helping everyone from beginner to advanced student.
– Ray Vaccari
You exposed us to yoga philosophy, the eight limbs of yoga, you never taught yoga as simply physical exercise program but much more, you taught us how yoga can help us to look at life differently and how it can help us deal with daily stress. I remembered I use to come to your class feeling tired and heavy with stress and after attending you structured program I use to feel so light and fresh.
I really miss a guru like you. You taught us with lot of patience, working with individual ability. I enjoyed every Saturday morning class. You enlighten our life with the spiritual knowledge of yoga. I am fortunate to have got an opportunity to attend your class. I am doing yoga and I am grateful to you for exposing me to the right knowledge.
– Archana Bajpai
I really enjoyed the yoga classes I attended with you as the guru. This was a very unique mind/body experience. I have attended Bikram Yoga, Yoga classes at NYSC, and at the Gym at work, nothing compared to the ones we attended with you. Every Saturday morning I looked forward to attending the 7:00 a.m. session even though I am not a morning person; this really rejuvenated us and made us ready for the next week, I liked the combination of Yoga asanas along with the Pranayam techniques. I wish you had continued to teach in New jersey, I miss attending these classes.
– Shaku Harshavardhana
“Thanks to your Yoga classes held in the temple in New Jersey, I have become very regular in doing Yoga. Prior to your classes, I used to do Yoga on and off. But, ever since I started coming to your classes, I have become very disciplined about doing it regularly. Your classes were very enjoyable and comprehensive. Also, you read Yoga related literature to the class which provided the theoretical / philosophical background and was very enlightening. I still remember Yoga classes with you and others in the group very fondly.”
– Vasu
“My husband and I did yoga with Subhash for approximately 7-8 years. What I most remember from his classes is that he not only taught physical postures, but emphasized the life style of yoga – meaning, combining spiritual mind and body. There was never any competition of how well you did versus others, just do as much as you can – the part I loved about Subhash’s classes were that he and his wife have incorporated “yoga” in their life – they seemed to have that peace of mind about them – and to me that is the most important part, physical postures or asanas are important, but without the training of meditation and internal peace of mind, they only provide physical benefits”
– Kalpana Sheth
I have taken yoga classes with Subhash Mittal and would recommend him to any student from beginner to the most advanced. His classes are excellent and always leave you feeling wonderful and refreshed. Subhash focuses on all the aspects of yoga and incorporates them into his classes and presents something new each week from breath work (pranayama), the background and philosophy of yoga, meditation (dhyana), and of course the postures (asanas). Subhash is a peaceful, gentle, patient man and that comes across in his excellent teaching skills. I encourage you to take a class with Subhash as you will not be disappointed, enjoy! Namaste.
– Catherine Larsen
Over 2 year experience in my Yoga lesson, It increased my body flexibility, strength and self-confidence. Also it helped causes of some types of back pain. Not to mention, doing the pranayamam helped relieved my stress and anxiety (I have had anxiety and doctor asked me to take medicine for that). But Yoga helped me being away from that.
We are so lucky to have you as an instructor 🙂

Stress Management Workshop Testimonials
I enjoyed the class very much and wanted another one this morning for my stiff neck! I will be signing up for Yoga!
I appreciate the knowledge and awareness that I gleaned. I cannot think of anything I didn’t like.
– Sandy
I really enjoyed the Stress Management class and I do feel like it is something that should be offered to employees. I feel that this would be very beneficial to both their physical as well as mental well being. I especially enjoyed the chair poses because I don’t always have time to take a 10-15 min break and walk around. The chair poses are quick and easy and a nice way to de-stress in a few short minutes.
– Bridgette A. Davidson
Thanks for offering the session. It was very good and I already used some of the exercises in the water while swimming.
– Miriam Oren
I thought it was an excellent presentation. I have already used a lot of the stretching exercises, and they have worked very well. Subhash is an excellent teacher, and I think this would be beneficial to the whole workforce.
– Whitney Shankland
I certainly did enjoy the workshop yesterday! I definitely think this class should be offered to all local employees. Everyone could benefit from it, for sure.
– Nancy
I think its a wonderful program and we need more programs like this in the corporate world to help with the stress that is in our lives today.
– Norma S. Walker
I enjoyed the class and found it extremely helpful. I was surprised at the chair yoga and thought it contributed much to the class. I feel the class would be great for many folks here, maybe small groups to start, even managers. To me, this is work-life balance which we pay a lot of lip service to but seldom practice.
– Pam
I’m not much into the “yoga” thing; I’m more of a walker, treadmill, low impact aerobics gal, but I felt the exercises–stretching, breathing, relaxation–were all very helpful and some of it overlapped what I remembered doing in aerobics. I went into the class somewhat stressed and with a bit of a headache, and when I left, I felt much more relaxed, in control — and my headache was gone. I think it would be helpful for everyone to realize how these simple techniques can greatly eliminate the symptoms of stress and give you a clearer focus.
– Cecilia V. Williams
I enjoyed it very much. I was like a limp noodle when I left. I believe everyone would benefit. It would have been nice to have a larger space to perform the exercises, however, very beneficial and worthwhile. I used some of the techniques again yesterday.
– Susan
I really enjoyed the Stress Management and Yoga session and thank you and Subhash for your wonderful presentation. It was very enlightening. The only problem with the session was that it wasn’t long enough. Subhash is an excellent teacher; I felt very relaxed and peaceful after the session.
– Maria
21-day Yoga Feedback
In the 21-day Yoga Immersion, each class felt complete, as we had most of the elements of Yoga Sutras skillfully woven in by a knowledgeable and seasoned teacher ( must I say, ‘Guru’): We started with a centering practice incorporating shoulder/neck stretches, followed by eye exercises – a key practice, often overlooked in most yoga classes. The sessions included asanas, pranayamas (with application of bandhas), visualization and yoga nidra. All aforementioned practices were beautifully and meticulously explained by Mr. Mittal. Additionally, we engaged in thought-provoking discussions in almost every class. Upon request from some of us, Mr. Mittal was also very kind to include an optional, 10-min meditation practice on weekdays. The detailed attention given to specific muscle groups/body parts in themed sessions helped me to explore new stretches that improved the flexibility and strength of the muscle group, and enhanced my overall body alignment. I particularly enjoyed The 5 Tibetan Rites and Trataka practices, which I hope to continue working on, from time to time.
Having these sessions continuously for 21 days has been an incredible experience! The daily structure and consistency helped me establish a healthy morning routine, giving me something refreshing to look forward to each day. Overall, I found the content of the sessions, the daily duration and the programme duration to be engaging and enriching. I am deeply grateful to Mr. Mittal for his guidance and expertise.”
– Swetha Srinivasaraghavan
Wonderful. My very old beautiful memories surfaced back up, thanks to Pranayama and meditation. If practicing it just for a few minutes for 21 days can do such wonders, imagine long term practice! “Don’t give up when body doesn’t flex. Feel proud to be practicing with better yogis. Having guru’s voice in the background helps with the later practice.”
– Latha Pamarthi
From the moment I entered the serene studio, Subhash’s calming presence and gentle guidance created a beautiful atmosphere for a glorious yoga practice, fostering a sense of connection and camaraderie with like-minded individuals. Subhash’s well-structured sequences challenged me to push my boundaries mindfully, leading to newfound physical strength and mental resilience. The focus on mindfulness and breath-work throughout the practice cultivated a profound sense of mental well-being and tranquility, positively impacting my daily life. Subhash’s offerings were flawless, providing an exceptional yoga experience that surpassed expectations. I look forward to attending future sessions with Subhash to continue exploring the depths of yoga practice and enjoying the nurturing environment he creates with like-minded practitioners.
– Marianna Karavan
Very good, pleasant The calmness you bring about. The way u plan out daily exercise. And looking at u itself, and how determined u have been in ur entire life gives us motivation to continue to do yoga.
– Mamatha Daggubati
Excellent! Integrated yoga, breathing exercizes, meditation.
– Neeraj Kuppam
This program is truly a Life changing experience for me physically, mentally. Subhash ji clearly explains what is the goal of yoga and how one can achieve this. Every class consists of perfect structure which involves, asanas and pranayama, it is easy to establish daily routine once classes are done. He is knowledgeable and yet so humble this quality inspires me a lot, I feel so energized throughout the day, I have experienced mental clarity and through out 21 days I am able to take decisions very clear whether in the work or personal. Coming to the body, my flexibility throughout program increased a lot, posture improved a lot and never felt dull/lethargic throughout the days. Process of Jala neti introduced in this program helped a lot with my pollen allergy, Pranayama helped me a lot with the breathing, my sleep got improved a lot. I have enjoyed interaction with other participants in the class and I am truly blessed to take this course.
– Sandeep Kakani
Amazing !!! Gita sholakas were a great start to begin the day along with Pranayam and yoga. With practice better well being can be achieved. I am super happy and waiting for more classes with Subhashji. The way he teaches to hold a pose is absolutely fantastic and very benificial !
– Ruchita Kapadia
Very good. Subhashji is a very earnest and organized instructor. The 21-day course progresses very systematically and introduces key concepts of yoga in a clear fashion. Need for establishing an ongoing practice.
– Rajesh Selukar
It was a great experience and helped me follow the routine to do asanas and pranayama for a life long journey of transformation.
– Sushma Mittapalli
Excellent experience with phenomenal teaching. It is indeed a yoga immersion. Education to yoga, mindfulness, improvement in external and internal body strength.
– Charmie Vin
After the holiday breaks, this program came at the right time to get back to the routine. Ever since I started attending your first 21 day yoga immersion program last year, I see a big transformation within myself in a very positive way. I hope to continue the practice and looking forward to the next yoga sutra program.
– Sundar Kannan
My experience of this yoga immersion program was very enriching on so many levels. From a physical perspective, I regained much loss of flexibility which naturally occurred after several years away from the practice. On personal and spiritual levels, the immersion opened the door to renewed discipline and brought meditation back into my daily routine. I deeply appreciated Subhash’s brief but very clear explanations of several verses of the Gita and of the Yoga Sutras. The teachings contained therein are timeless and profound. They teach us the ultimate purpose and goal of life and how to attain that goal. Subhash is a wonderful teacher who is selfless and incredibly generous in sharing his knowledge with others. The first take-away is the importance of a daily yoga practice which includes, asana, breathing and meditation. This, in turn, brings up the second take-away which is discipline. Having the resolve to wake up early on a daily basis without talking myself out of it. The third take-away is to read a verse of the Gita or the Yoga Sutras daily to, hopefully, remain immersed in yoga thereby improving my overall state of mind.
– Denise Bernier
Overall, I find the pace, variety and detailed instruction that flows in a timely way as the class is in motion can only be led by an instructor with extensive knowledge and experience teaching. Subhash guides students through his “true” yoga courses rhythmically–“true” because each class includes asana, pranayama and meditation. To ensure safety, students are always warned to try but not push or go beyond their comfort level. Subhash often shares the benefits of anything we do in class which confirms repeatedly to me that I’m doing good things for my mind, body and spirit! The time to reflect on my experience during the class helps me to be more aware of any progress observed day-to-day which is very satisfying. This reflection is also valuable in helping me to remember how I might improve my strength, balance or flexibility in a given pose the next time. Subhash is more than a yoga instructor, a guru to those of us who have the opportunity to learn from him, but also a creator of community since he knows his students by name and family.
– Penelope Gardner
“Great experience overall. This is my first time learning yoga and that too doing it for 21 days in a row. These 21 days have been more energetic, happy, calm and my focus has been improved in everything I do regularly. I am becoming more flexible and balanced by each passing day.
Subhashji is an amazing Guru, he has a great command over what he teaches and has authentic knowledge of the ancient Indian wisdom. The sessions are taught in a very systematic manner focused not on just asanas, but including breathing techniques (pranayama) and meditation too. This helps in the balance of the mind and body.
As each day session in this program is very unique and sometimes difficult, I was able to do it because of the way Subhashji teaches. He knows what exactly is happening in your body with each move/stretch, what should be the next thing to do, when you need to rest and when you need to push more at the same time not hurting yourself. After an hour and half session on each day, your mind becomes calm, body becomes more energetic and soul is happier and you will be determined to achieve exactly what you want to!”
– Sphurthy Gangapuram
It was so good to return to your classes; I really enjoy starting my day with such a well rounded practice. You’re an awesome yoga teacher Subhash! Sharing your knowledge and including some of the sutras is such an invaluable experience. Thank you again, I hope to attend another immersion soon.
– Peggy Selby
I felt really good each day after the session ended and had a positive frame of mind throughout the day. 1. More flexibility in the body after doing the asanas. 2. Bhagvat Gita verses help to understand who we are.
– Sundar Kannan
As always I really enjoy these classes, the pace, the variety! Even though I have done it many times before I like the intensives 🙂
– Ana Cardia
“Asana focused program was really good to see changes in body flexibility, strength and give platform to build on it for lifetime. The duration of 21 days is great. I also loved the specific body part/muscle focused sessions. With all the asanas we got helpful tips on what alternative methods we can use to not stress the body, all that is very helpful. I never used blocks and belts so far, but just got them knowing how helpful they can be.
Overall great program, very well covers variety of asanas and their benefits. Really loved being part of the program and hoping to continue my practice with all that I learned from it.”
– Sachin Sanap
Excellent! Subhash is a fantastic teacher and he is so knowledgeable. I couldn’t wait to get started every day with his class. It’s not a yoga class, it’s really about life. Loved the Bhagavad Gita at the start of class. Make it a habit, yoga is preparation for meditation, stress and suffering in the mind
– Sugata Sen
I really enjoyed it & I felt so much better just days into the program…thank you for offering the online class! (1) Establish a regular practice, not matter how difficult it is to start, (2) do what feels right for your body, (3) don’t forget to meditate.
– C J Nedic
It was a great experience learning Asanas and Pranayama and starting the day with great energy.
– Ramya Gangadharan
Very positive Importance of all three aspects of yoga, Asana, Pranayama and Meditation.
– Satish Penmethsa
The intensive was a rich source of well-taught asanas and deepening variations, pranayama, and excellent reflections on the Gita. I feel my personal practice has been enriched and inspired. Especially enjoyed slowing Surya Namaskar down and holding the postures longer- I observed my breath calming and flowing with the postures. Also, I was reminded to explore the cleansing kriyas and plan to continue with a few of them. Thirdly, I thank you for offering us greater permission not to strain in poses…effort, not strain…because it’s so easy to get whipped up into the challenge of certain poses to the detriment of the body.
– Janis Phelps
I was looking forward to the class everyday. Given the Pandemic situation we are in, the three week course provided a nice relief. My flexibility has improved measurably within these 3 weeks. Subhash Ji’s holistic approach to yoga provides a rich experience. Subhash Ji welcomes suggestions and gives every suggestion a careful thought before adapting or rejecting each suggestion. “Committed to yoga for life.I will devote more time to learning Bhagavad Gita.”
– Venu Kadari
I enjoyed the course very much. What especially stood out for me was Subhash-ji’s deep knowledge of the asanas and ways to customize them to one’s own abilities, the comprehensiveness of the course (it included asanas, paranayamas and pointers on meditation) which really strengthened the mind-body-breath connection we seek in yoga, and the perfect, relaxed pace. For me, three take-aways are: (1) Yoga practice that only focuses on asanas is incomplete because pranayamas integrated with asana practice add a very important and calming dimension of breath control, (2) Understanding how we can include variations in the practice (e.g., in surya namaskar) and how the poses can be taken further as we develop our ability and strength keeps things interesting; and (3) Knowledge of how the different poses can help strengthen or relax specific parts of the body is important, so that I can create a sequence for myself, depending on which body parts I wish to focus on.
– Anjali Mahendra
The 21-day Yoga immersion was a wonderful experience for me to participate in the daily yoga session with others in a zoom format, building a yoga community along the way. Subhash Ji was guiding us all throughout in a very graceful manner. He was aware of our physical limitations and alerted us not to overdo. This has developed that discipline to get up early in the morning and after the yoga session, we felt very energetic to tackle the days events. Venu Kadari alongside you demonstrating various asanas was an added advantage! Subhash Ji, you enhanced the yoga sessions with an appreciation of the various sutras of Patanjali during the 21-day journey. Finally, one can observe the constant struggle between the ego and the intellect can be overcome with daily yoga practice. Reading a shloka from the Gita and its brief commentary at the beginning of each session was inspiring and considered as ‘Thought for the Day’
– Prakash Devalapalli
Amazing! Established the daily routine, achieved flexibility and immense knowledge on yoga philosophy.
– Archana Bajpai
Was very nice. By practicing Asanas, pranayam and meditation one can train the mind to become mindfulness.
– Jyoti Mehta
I really enjoyed this 21 day; it strengthened my commitment to yoga and was a good refresher of some poses that I hadn’t included in my practices for a while! I also liked the addition of reading the Gita at the beginning of class!” “Yoga makes me feel good in all aspects! Dedicating a little more time for Asana showed me the importance of a well rounded practice for both mind and body. I am reading the Gita again and loving it!
– Ana Cardia
Thank you Subhash for another great yoga experience. I did this intensive 2 1/2 yrs ago at the studio and this Zoom experience, while lacking the energy of the studio, was interesting, challenging and something to look forward to every day. You have a talent for keeping things consistent, but also introducing new concepts and sharing so much of your knowledge.
I enjoyed the readings from the Bhagavad Gita and was even inspired to find my husband’s copy from his Eastern Religions studies so many years ago in college to explore further.
And Venu did a great job as a demonstrator!
– Gail Coles
It is very structured course and Asanas will touch almost all the parts of the body. Hip intensive, Neti pot usage demonstration and easy to setup home practice. I think we should do 5 minutes of meditation if possible.
– Srikanth Venkanagari
This was a fantastic course. I had always been interested in taking this course but could not due to logistical reasons (kids, spouse’s travel). COVID-19 provided the opportunity to take this course online, and I am grateful for that. I have practiced yoga on and off over the years. This course gave me the knowledge to establish a home practice and the confidence that I could continue it sustainably. I am very grateful to Subhash-ji for putting together this course.
– Bala Rao
It’s been va Great Experience !! Subhash ji a Wonderful Yoga Instructor . Looking forward to join Next session !!
– Rakhi Saluja
Rewarding and Satisfying! “I am able to feel more flexible doing Yoga everyday. I like the fact that I can maintain disciple by waking up early. My rest of the day feels very energetic and I accomplish more work with enthusiasm.
– Priya Mahadevan
Very Good! Different Breathing techniques, practicing regularly, regular practicing sequence.
– Subha Sridharan
Overall, my first yoga class was amazing! I struggled through several poses, but despite the difficulty, it was still fulfilling experience. … The qualities that I developed through yoga helped me to effectively reflect on the past few day. I can stay in the crisscross for long time without any numbness or pain. As I am obese, I lost 4 lbs despite taking regular diet! I got confidence that if I start doing little changes in the diet along with yoga, definitely I can loose weight and stay healthy forever!! ” Self confidence, focusing on breathing while doing yoga and pranayama, slow down, balance and most importantly accepting imperfections!!
– Anuradha Tamada
Good! Postures, techniques and tips.
– Øyvind Ellingsen
A holistic immersive learning experience where we practiced mind body spirit aligning practice through yoga pranayama and elaboration of theory of yoga. “Take time to practice what we learnt. Do it slow to let the body slowly stretch and reach the optimal asana position. Breathing focus on it and practice pranayama”
– Lavanya Sridharan
Excellent! Subhashji’s classes are life changing experiences to me! I love it and can’t explain in a few words! Have to experience it!!
– Sajini Nair
“This has been an absolutely amazing and enlightening program. I was not sure how the whole thing will work and how I would react to it but was astounded at the difference it made to my thoughts, emotions, knowledge, body with the activities over the 21 days.
The class was just the right size and in a comfortable environment. The style and the knowledge of the teacher (Subhas ji) was totally amazing. The techniques taught helped me become stronger physically and emotionally. It is easy and enjoyable and deeply powerful.
Highly recommend the program to everyone who is open minded to different views and is committed in making a difference to oneself and is willing to giving it a go.”
– Sridevi Kadari
Really enjoyed. I am convinced that this course has put me on the right path.
– Venu Kadari
Very good. Loved the overall program content. It’s a perfect mix of yoga asanas, paranyama, meditation, cleaning techniques and philosophy. I saw an improvement in my body flexibility and energy level with the daily practice. I realized that I felt much calmer and happier through the day. I radiated more positive energy around and found an inner strength.
– Susmita Gupta
“More than I had asked for from the program! My primary reason to attend this program was to learn pain-management. I have been suffering from chronic neck pain for the past 3 years. The tightness in entire body was relieved through yoga practice… loved the way program is designed — focus is on working out different parts of the body… and the difference can be experienced daily.
This Yoga program was more of a spiritual journey for me. Learnt the importance of both body and mind in spiritual practice. This gave that needed balance and boost for my spiritual practice. Body feels lighter now. Neck pain seems more manageable and feel gradually it’ll reduce with daily yoga practice.
Experienced many emotions / memories are stored in our solar plexus and it impacts our living in more than one ways we can imagine. Felt through yoga practice these emotions were getting relieved.
Yoga nidra played a very major role in healing my mind at subconscious level. I feel more calmer now. Am more aware in situations and change the outcome to a more positive one unlike before.
Feel Gratitude for the program and for the teachings of Subhash Guruji in making us more knowledgeable about Yoga and it’s benefits!”
– Preethu Arvind
“My overall experience was just wonderful. When I was diagnosed with cancer in 2016 and started to explore holistic methods to heal and live, I knew I wanted to incorporate yoga as part of my lifestyle. But through your classes, and the 21 day program, I was pleasantly surprised to uncover so many more benefits in terms of calming the mind and being so much more aware of my physical body. You are so passionate about yoga and its philosophy that it makes you a great teacher and I like your “no-nonsense” attitude which helps us stay disciplined and practice yoga for the right reasons “
1. The 21 day program proved that making time for yoga in the mornings ensures I have made time for myself at the start of the day and now I am cheerful and productive for the rest of the day
2. There are so many yoga poses and challenges for specific issues. For instance, I had instant improvement in my constipation after you demonstrated the technique to eliminate that. I’m so amazed and going to share this and other benefits with my family back home in India.
3. The guided meditation I received in your classes and audio has been the best experience I have had so far.
– Deepa Rajamani
“Happy & Wonderful experience. Everyday I felt energetic. Early morning waking up was a drag but worth it. Your routine does some magic to Circulation System”
Do not Delay learning Yoga
Group of max 25 very helpful to stay motivated
Your dedication to this community is very much appreciated
– Anil Fulani
This 21-day Yoga Immersion was an amazing experience for me. The classes were challenging and informative throughout. I always enjoy Subhash’s teaching style in all aspects of yoga, and this was no exception. It was easy to wake up early every day knowing the class would be comfortable and I would learn something new, and feel good physically and mentally the rest of the day. Very motivated to continue this practice at home and appreciate the suggestions and tools Subhash provides for doing so. “
1) Reinforced to me how valuable a daily, consistent yoga practice can be in all aspects of my well-being.
2) There is always a wonderful quiet energy in the room which immediately brings me to calm as I step into the class and stays with me long after.
3) Piqued my interest to learn more about yoga philosophy”
– Gail Coles
I enjoyed the class very much. I am not stranger to Yoga and have practiced “asanas” off and on all my life. However, for the past several years I have been very lazy. This has led to obesity and increased blood pressure. This class has helped me jump start my asana practice. The class emphasized a good balance of asana, pranayama, and meditation.
I plan to continue the class-regimen for foreseeable future. “
1. Morning asana practice is quite suitable for me and sets a very good tone for the rest of the day.
2. The class was structured carefully and incorporated different aspects of asana, pranayama, and cleansing techniques very well.
3. Learnt several new variations of asanas and pranayamas. That was fun. The inclusion of Tibetan exercises was also lot of fun.”
– Rajesh Selukar
I thoroughly enjoyed this class. It exceeded my expectations. The time of day was a challenge for me but I was able to move beyond that. Subhash, you are a wonderful teacher. You so easily and effectively share your deep knowledge of yoga in a way that is caring, encouraging and motivating. I feel so lucky to have found your classes. “
*After 21 consecutive days I more deeply feel the benefits of yoga in my body
*I pushed myself (without pain) and was able to do things I did not know I could do
*A renewed enthusiasm/motivation to make my yoga practice a daily priority”
– Karen Hawkins
“Enjoyed doing yoga. I presumed yoga to be more physical exercise. But understood its completely different and is more about the connect between body and mind. My Daily routine has improved positively and can’t realize the tiredness at the end of the day which was usual earlier.”
– Manoj Damodaran
I would like to express that I am going to miss the class and Subhashji teaching since today was my last day of 21 days programme. I discovered the true meaning of Yoga that includes 5 essential practices and not just aasanas. I just love his teaching techniques and the theoretical knowledge that are very important to have a understanding of Yoga as a whole. I cannot thank enough to Subhashji about his time and his dedication towards each student.
– Mamta
Transformational, Informative, Spiritual. Interesting enough to make me get up early daily and I think this would be a lifelong habit for me. The routine is addictive and energizing.
– Sivasundar
Awakening and total body transformation. Did yoga in the past but this 21 day journey was best as it got me into a routine of being me. Feel better in body and mind.
– Nivedita
Subhash is a great teacher with deep knowledge in Yoga. I enjoyed his classes and learned a variety of Yoga techniques and poses. I did not notice any significant life changing experience either mentally or physically. There could be subtle changes that may be buried under my high expectations. But in all I am very glad I came, understood my strength and more so my weakness and for now I have the motivation to continue at home which I know will dissipate over time but then I can come back for another 21 day session.
– Mitesh
Very good. Made a positive difference to my life and lower back pain. My back pain lessened after the 21 day program and the difference is felt when I wake up in the morning. Previously, I woke up with stiff back and now I am almost pain free in the morning. I will try and do at least 30 minutes every day going forward.
– Prakash
"I found the 21-day Yoga Class invaluable. Subhash Ji is very knowledgeable in the field, and has a brilliant teaching style. The class was not just about coming in the morning, doing some Yoga, then going home and forgetting about it. Subhash Ji did a great job blending the Aasanas (physical), Pranayamas (breathing), Dhyana (meditation-introduction). He gave us a background of the concepts as and when he introduced us to the various areas & steps. He was very conscious about translating from Sanskrit to English as well, making no assumptions about where his students are from.
He is also very conscious about the different levels people are at, and does not follow an aggressive style like some studios are known to, instead encouraging his students to do what they are comfortable with.
If you are looking for a class where you can learn about Yoga in a safe and friendly environment with no judgement, I would highly recommend the Integral Studio where Subhash Ji teaches." "Going for a class for 21-days does really get you started into a routine. I’ve been very encouraged to wake up in the morning and continue. Subhash Ji creates real-time audio recordings of each day of the 21-day class, and provides those recordings. I have found them invaluable while doing my morning Yoga at home, makes me feel like I am still going to class and practicing alongside Subhash Ji. Subhash Ji provides a lot of materials as well such as videos, DVDs, pictorial depictions of the Aasanas, and further explanations of the various areas. There is a wealth of supporting materials provided."
– Avinash Lakhiani
I enjoyed the program. Waking up early morning and doing Yoga in a group set up with experienced Guru like Subhash ji is great experience I want to enjoy frequently. Helps me keep my regular yoga practice at home more energetic with extra vigor.
– Hari Chitluri
"Excellent! I am still learning but I can confidently say that this will change my life in a positive way. Changed the perspective on how to lead life. I think the fee is less when compared to the resources and positive energy we got our of the program."
"Time management, how to listen to body and take care of it. How simple changes in life can give you better way of living. The way Subhash ji teaches is simply awesome. I could not get the same feeling after I did yoga when I did at home."
– Bipin Gadi
Excellent! I was looking for gentle low impact stretching regimen to complement my meditation. Yoga was my first thought. I did not imagine that the asanas in themselves when done with awareness can be meditation. So . "Awareness makes asanas more impactful than achieving the perfect pose. Meditation is the heart of yoga practice. You have to practice to reap benefits."
– Sumathi Rajaram
The 21day Yoga Immersion program was very peaceful, relaxing, calming the mind and developing a deep sense of self-awareness. This program is not just asanas but it also includes meditation with yoga nidra, and pranayama with various breathing techniques, gives us a very good Yoga experience. Subhash ji is an amazing and experienced Yoga Guru, very rarely one can find such a Guru. He teaches us traditional methods of yoga and its very benefitting. "1. It strongly encourages us to practice Yoga with meditation and pranayama on a daily basis. I got a true yoga experience compared to any other yoga programs. 2. He has made every effort to provide all resources to his students to make it a ongoing practice, through his website, blog, youtube videos and audio links of the classes taken. Which helps us having a good reference to study more about yoga postures."
– Kanthi Kaligotla
Awesome experience. Was able stretch some parts of the body that I thought were not stretchable anymore. Will continue yoga at home and some classes. Integral yoga does help when we practice diet, yoga, mediation together.
– Mohan Voora
Got motivation, energy and enthusiasm to come back to my daily practice.
– Dhanalakshmi Muppavaram
I am a beginner to Yoga. The 21 day Yoga Immersion was the first time I ever learnt yoga asanas. I had a wonderful experience doing it under your guidance. I absolutely looked forward to attending it each morning. Learnt so much from these 21 days and so glad I decided to join it. Found it to be a wonderful experience and I wonder how I did not do it all these years. "Through this program I have had more of mental peace than ever. Got tremendous positive energy and vibes. This program has helped me be more organized and disciplined in my actions and Day to day routine. "
– Shraddha Chheda
"LOVED IT!!!! It was difficult to wake two hours earlier than usual and I had to rearrange my sleep schedule, but it was worth it for the way it made me feel. I felt more energized and alert afterwards.
" "Breathing techniques are important!
Yoga is more than just stretching!
Meditation is good for the soul!"
– Anne Pippen
It is amazing, I am not early bird as most of them, without missing single session I have made 21 days – that itself a great achievement. I feel my body is very flexible and comfortable. I really liked the way Subhash ji focused on each part of the body everyday and the breathing technics. Throughout the session I have learned new poses and I got to explore my body (which I never did). Started thinking deep inside of myself than through mind. I am focusing on controlling Ego and anger. Subhash ji will provide all the resources to his students to help them continue the Yoga practice. He is really nice & simple person, I really enjoyed the 21 day session. Thanks you Subhash ji!
– Rajitha Sree Vangara
Great experience overall. I am now familiar with many asanas and breathing practices which will help me to do these in the long run. "Benefits of doing asanas along with breathing can become a type of meditation over time of practice.
– Chitra Ramanarayanan
I really enjoyed the class. I loved that it was calm and quiet. It was a nice way to start my morning. I’ve been doing yoga since I was a child but I’ve learned a lot of new things.
– Debra Mehta
Subhash is a kind and gentle teacher. One of the things I greatly appreciated was his sensitivity with language. He never, ever said "If you can’t do this," but always "If this doesn’t work for you, try this." I always felt encouraged in his class and never felt judged.
Also, I lost 5 pounds during the intensive!
– Susan Mazzara
It was fantastic, energetic and informative. It made me rethink my priorities in life on how to lead a healthy, peaceful and mindful life. You have been source of authentic information on Yoga and it’s philosophy. Thanks for explaining the background and internal details of Yoga.
– Shyamsunder Mutcha
It was a pleasent experience overall. I enjoyed doing yoga in a group. There was a positive vibe to it. Completing the 21-day program gave me motivation to continue it on my own at home. All the documents and links provided by Subhashji are helpful in creating your own routine.
– Anushri Bhivre
I love these yoga classes, the 21-day Yoga Intensive is a wonderful way to help me stay in tip top shape with my practice!
I enjoy the variety, the teachings provided, learning the name of the poses, everything about this program is great! I even like that it is so early in the day, it is perfect! 🙂
– Ana Cardia
Great! I wondered if I would be physically able to do the practice 21 days in a row. I did, with no problems, so I am proud of that, and stronger too. I had much to do at home during the class and I had so much energy. I slept well too. When I got up early (for me) and came to class it was inspiring to see 35 other people did too. The discipline this requires was good for me and I feel much better about what I accomplish each day.
I really liked the class. Repetition brings learning and understanding, for me. Variation brings interest and challenge. I never get bored with your classes even though I guess it is basically the same class. The variety keeps me inspired and moving ahead. Thank you for your incredible dedication to us. You are the best yoga teacher I have ever had, by far. This is a long journey and I have much to learn – it gradually seeps in! Even though I said the program fee was just right – the 21-day class is an amazing bargain. You seem to be reaching many new students.
– Sherri Harmon
Subhash ji is an amazing guru. The 21-day yoga program is a great experience in my life. I learned so many things apart from Yoga. I got a chance to meet so many great people. Group discussions helped to learn from real time experiences. Breakfast meet is a wonderful time. The Yoga and Pranaayama/Meditation DVDs are awesome.
– Nandu Konduri
Thank you so much for doing these courses. I really appreciate that you are so willing to share your in-depth knowledge of yoga. I had already established a daily yoga practice but wanted to learn more. I found that I missed my personal practice. More pranayam, more meditation, less or no alcohol
Brenda Cleveland
Blissful!! I have enjoyed 21-day Yoga Challenge. I have learnt to do this asana in a better and perfect way. I realised that I have been doing these asanas without even understand it. I have deeper understanding of Yoga after attending this challange. I am truly hoping to continue doing it on my own.
– Jyotsna Singh
This was my second 21-Day Yoga Immersion and as always it was great. It is a great learning experience on Asanas, Pranayama, meditation and all the theoretical knowledge that Subhash Ji gives.
– Nishant Munjal
I try not to miss any of Subhash ji’s intensive classes. I enjoy the sessions every single time. I always learn something new each time from Subhash ji and my fellow students. The importance of a routine and a practice.
– Bina Thakkar
This was my first time Yoga. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I came to very open mind to learn the yoga techniques. I loved the way everyday’s series went through and enjoyed the Subhashji’s teaching style. Sharing experiences with everyone got an understanding as most of us have same problem. Also thanks to Subhasji for keeping potluck breakfast at his house so we got to meet his wife and got to know more about the participant from this group.
– Nissa Yusuf
"I had a great experience with the 21 Day yoga immersion. As a beginner to yoga, i was skeptical about finishing the whole course, but wanted to try out based on my friend’s suggestion and it was perfect. I have started feeling positive changes with in me both mentally and physically. Highly recommend anyone who wants to learn yoga in a no pressure environment."
– Sreeni Edula
"This program surpassed my expectations. It was the most well-rounded program I’ve ever attended, with a good balance of asana, pranayama, theory, history, diet, meditation, and discipline, in a fun and welcoming atmosphere. I drove 30 minutes each way, leaving my house at 5:20 am without missing a day, because it was worth it. On day 22, I continued my practice at home, but was a little sad not to be driving in to our little group for a great start to my day. I lost 5 lbs too!"
– Teri Thomas
"My overall experience was wonderful as it was very nicely structured. I liked the concept of same flow each day with focus on a particular muscle group; and finally I loved the extra 30 minutes of Yoga theory/concept on Saturdays. This experience made me more disciplined and was the first step towards my overall goal i.e to gain strength and flexibility in my body."
– Nishant Munjal
"Awesome. Every class with Subhash is refreshing, and mind opening."
-Laurie Brummit
"Excellent! I enjoyed it. My day was longer when I came to classes. I used to have more time to do other works. I am more focused and less anxious when I did yoga. Thank you Subash ji."
– Divya Nallamothu
"Excellent! Three major takeaways: 1. learnt the correct way of doing all those poses earlier i used to do some of them in wrong way like when to inhale and when to exhale etc. 2. change in the lifestyle. because of the attended program i started getting up early which i never did in my life. (did not used to get up early even during the annual exams time) this program really gave me opportunity to change my life style 3. learnt some new variations in suryanamaskara. (i only know treditional suryanamaskara before) but with the program i got to know we can also do some variations."
– Shekhar Dontula
"I feel blessed to have found this class and to have had the good sense to participate in it. Subhash is very patient and encouraging without being demanding and pushy. This was my first real experience with yoga practices and I look forward to continuing the classes. My lower back pain is all but gone. While I still can not do all of the poses I am making progress and that is what is important to me. I also feel invigorated by the early morning program and have continued the practices. Also I have purchased the Yoga with Subhash DVD’s which have helped me maintain the momentum which we had with obtained thru th 21 Day Program. This has been an A+ experience. Every Senior I know should consider taking this class!"
– Jan Sommer
"I thoroughly enjoyed the whole 21 day Yoga challenge. It was my first time at learning Yoga and I was not sure if I would like it or even continue and just wanted to learn something new. But when I was in the program doing the various Asanas, Pranayamas and the meditation practice, I realized how much of a positive difference I felt within myself and have decided that I will try to make yoga as part of my everyday routine. Even getting up early in the morning dint feel tiring, instead I had a new found energy for the whole day.
The best part was Subhashjis calm demeanor and his instruction style. He never forced anything and said we should always listen to our body but he also made sure we were all doing the right poses and breathing techniques. To top it all he would take the time to make us understand about Yoga sutras of Patanjali or instances from various Indian mythical tales during the yoga sessions when we are really tired with certain asanas. This way we would get engrossed in his talk and not feel any exhaustion. I really believe Subhashji is the best person to learn yoga from in town. His Yoga sessions are so addicting and interesting that you will just want to keep continuing the session but alas it does come to an end after 21 days. I cant thank Subhashji for this wonderful program and how much of a positive difference he’s bringing to the community by holding these programs."
– Rashmi Nair
"It was very enriching both for the body and mind"
– Salma Haque
"It was a wonderful experience. Thank you for offering such a great program at practically no cost. I am so glad I was able to attend and learn so much from you. I hope to be your student again in the near future."
– Hoda Memar
"I really enjoyed this program, and I started to feel difference in my body after one week. It is a life changing experience. i feel very energized. I wish I had attended this program at earlier stage of my life. "
– Dharm Gupta
"It was very good experience and really helped me to start of with my yoga practice. I am very much flexible with few Asana poses after attended this program. Now I am trying to get familiar with pranayama and meditation which will help full cycle of yoga as beginner. It will really helpful for the people who wants to introduce the yoga in to life. This is the best program which will help any one.
I would like to mention the overall experience is very good and i am very much satisfied with the way Subhash ji teaching and explaining about the way of practice and proving the information in all aspects."
– Suresh Vaddem
"Great. Though I had attended this class for the purpose of making yoga a routine habit, I learned/experienced the real purpose of Yoga. Subhash was really good at explaining and making me understand and deal with my experience. It was totally unexpected and am truly grateful to have experienced it.
I was really impressed at how the class always started on time. Each class was different which made the classes enjoyable."
– Rohini Rasa
"Very satisfied. 1.5 hrs a day for the program is just about right as it includes an explanation and paying individual attention on people. Thank you for recording and sharing the 21-day program audio."
– Kumar Ganapathiraju
"It was wonderful. I like the structure of the classroom n really value the instructions."
– Shruti Gupta
"I enjoyed every moment. After taking a little break from yoga, this was a great way to get back into the habit. I really enjoyed the discussion that focused on immersing yourself in a task, but not being attached to the outcome. I feel like that gave me an insight for dealing with my own stress, plus it is also a tangible leadership tool for getting the most out of employees without causing burnout."
– Amy Crawford
It has been a great expericence for me. I am now convinced yoga can releive me completly from my lower back pain if I continue and I really see a lot of difference in waking up early and doing yoga. I am able to concentrate better at work and my eating habits have improved as well. I would definetly join your other classes and as well continue the practice at home.
– Rajkumar Chandran
"I always look forward to these 21-day yoga classes with Subhash for many reasons. I have practiced yoga for over 20 yrs now and I find that this class provides me with the spiritual element that is often lacking from other teachers.
Subhash really attends to all the students and to the very end gives feedback to students. His nature is very gentle and yet informative and challenging. I have noticed so many changes in both my body, mind and emotions. I give the highest recommendation for anyone to take the class. Subhash also seems to attract a very nice group of people to his classes and I always enjoy getting to know them."
– Joanne Healey
"I am extremely happy to attend this class. I have actually fallen in love with many Asanas. It is the wonderful nature of the class and benefits that I were getting, that motivated me to get up as early as 5 AM, which I always found difficult. My sleep patterns are improved and I am able to control my diet, but still there is a long way to go!"
– Rajas Pimpalwadkar
"I have been running on a reasonably regular basis over the past 10 years. However, I have started loosing flexibility and calmness in the mind. My main purpose of joining the program is to get the flexibility back, improve on breathing habits and keep the mind calm and peaceful. My first day at the practice was tough, I could feel my muscles all over the body were tight . Thanks to Subhash for guiding me gradually into different Asanas and constant emphasis on breathing, I started feeling better after 3,4 days of the practice and I did not want to miss a single day after that. I thoroughly enjoyed the company of the other participants in the program, they’re all excellent and spread the energy through out. I appreciate Subhash’s introduction of Yoga Sutras and his experiences with concepts like ‘Tibetan Rites’. "
Rao Dasari
"Blissful Experience ! I was looking for a yoga program that would give me the necessary initiation and experience to come closer to my roots. I feel , Subhash Ji’s yoga program was the right path for this process. Seemingly complex and subtle concepts in the practice of Hatha yoga, become much easier when one practices under the keen observation and guidance of an experienced Guru. This program has helped introduce and clarify many of the basic essential yogic practices which can only be perfected through a daily routine of practice. Subhash Ji gives the right attention to everyone in the group giving tips to correct postures and introduces subtle variations . He has always been kind enough to share personal experiences and answer any questions the sadhaka may have. I hope you enjoy the immense health benefits this program has to offer."
– Tuhin Patel
"Energizing, inspiring, besides learning from an incredible teacher and a great team of like minded people.
1. Asanas are not easy, if you do them right.
2. Disciplined Practice can makes them easy
3. Subhashji’s passion for yoga becomes contagious by the time you are done with the 21 day program "
– Hemi Patel
I was able to explore my personal practice and I believe enhance my teaching. The discipline of a daily practice has brought new depths to my practice and I’ve truly enjoyed continuing each day with new and fresh awareness. I’ve always somewhat struggled with meditation and I’m actually beginning to look forward to my new found peace of mind.
– Peggy Selby (yoga instructor)
My experience was one of inspiration that I can do a lot toward improving my own physical and mental health. I felt better after one week and so was very inspired to continue.
I do have difficulty sitting in any cross legged position, so use a pillow at my lower back for support. I’m assuming that will get better with practice as I get stronger.
– Susan Walston
I really enjoyed the whole session. It really helped me a lot . 21 day Yoga practice alleviated my knee pain. I got the discipline of getting up early in the morning. Lot of ther benefits like strength and flexiblity on the muscles. Mr. Subhash is very good for proper guidance and run the class without getting boredom.
– Sridevi
Absolutely wonderful! I didn’t want it to end! 🙂 I discovered how to “listen” to my body. Connecting mentally with the asanas during practice enabled me to better understand my physical state throughout the day. I realized that approaching yoga with a commitment to a daily practice resulted in my schedule changing in order to make my practice a top priority. I learned that yoga is not only about the asanas, but also about breathing, awareness, stillness, etc. coming together to create a harmonious beginning to my day.
– Kristen Daniels
I thoroughly enjoyed my 21-day Yoga Challenge. It was one of the most fun and meaningful challenges I’ve experienced. Even though, it was hard to wake up at the beginning, it got easier and I started to enjoy waking up early! I loved Subhash’s teaching style and his passion towards yoga. We, as your students, could see how much you believe in what you teach and that is indispensable! I liked the fact that we were able to do things at our own pace. I also really liked how you varied what we did each day, so that we learned something new everyday. Last but not least, I appreciated you sharing with us the philosophies and the concepts behind yoga.
– Vineetha Govindasamy
It was a truly wonderful experience. I thought the challenge would be going everyday at such an early hour but the energy, passion and quiet of the morning that I discovered at the studio made it a great experience and compensated for any loss of sleep.
– Peggy Immekus
Very positive – actually no complaints of having to get up earlier than I
usually do – the whole 90 minutes was well planned and interesting – everyday
we learned something new, did new asanas, took home a new sutra to ontemplate
– Carole Fine
Excellent! I am very thankful for the amount of knowledge parted during the course. Subhash has a deep understanding of Yoga. And I would do another course with him, just for his depth of knowledge in Yoga, bringing that authenticity or originality of Yoga, and his willingness to give his deep knowledge to his students.
– Dinesh Perumal
"I personally liked this class very much and made me believe in Yoga. I could see the results in myself.
Overall it has been an wonderful experience to see the transitions in my body from day 1 to day 21."
-Smita Garg
The program was a revelation of the wonderful world of yoga. I have found the yoga taught to be a very powerful tool for a healthy and blissful body and mind. In fact the program is structured so well, and the duration so ideal, that I already feel a big difference in my total well-being. Subhash’s deep knowledge of the subject keeps you absolutely absorbed and engaged. IT HAS CHANGED MY LIFE!!
-Deepa Arigala
"Great! experience doing yoga with Subhash. The following benefits I got myself while doing the yoga classes. 1. Improved health 2. No mood swing 3. More focus 4. lost weight 5. No Sleeping problem 6. Positive Discipline(Time and food)"
-Kumar Senthil
The Class was exceptional. I have been to many "western" type Yoga Classes. This was different in that it went into the history and meaning of things. From my Christian point of view I enjoyed learning about the how Yoga and Hinduism are intertwined and how closely related many of the beliefs are with the 10 commandments . I liked meeting all of the other participants.
-Jeff Fike
"It was a great experience and it totally changed my whole life. I was suffering from lower back pain and anal fissure for a year and half. After taking this 21-day challenge (with sattvic food) program, I completely got relief from the pain. The yoga postures helped my digestion system which helped to heal the anal fissure. I wish I would have attended this program earlier. It is really a challenging program which requires concentration and motivation which I got it after couple of classes. In addition to the physical exercise, now I have also been trying to control my eating habits. Practicing Yoga and eating more natural foods has made a huge difference in ""how I feel"".
Thank you Subhash ji, for sharing your expertise and helping me to overcome my health issues. You are such a great and wonderful instructor. I wish and pray for your healthy life. Namste!!!"
-Sujatha Muthuswamy
"This was my second 21 day class. I found that my meditation became deeper and the calmness stayed with me longer. Overall the breath control improved as well as my strength."
– Jeff Fike
"I am only more and more convinced that yoga is indeed the single approach to happiness of both the mind and the body. I feel really blessed and lucky to have discovered Subhash and yoga. The philosophy in the form of yamas and niyamas that were shared, I think, was a gentle reminder of how we should live life, and very welcome. In other words, we must practice yoga both in letter and spirit!!"
– Deepa Arigala
"Wonderful experience that has brought me right back to my old routine – waking up early in the morning without too much effort, and going through the day with energy despite the longer day. I have been able to continue practicing every morning since finishing the 21-day session."
– Nivedita Chandrasekar
""It was great for developing better habits. Getting up earlier, wasting less time at night. The whole thing has really helped me.
Yoga works. My range of motion is greatly increased. There are solid, tangible, easily visibly results for the work I’ve put into it. The classes have helped me to understand how to listen to my body. This is something I didn’t pay much attention to before. This will be more important as I age and continue to work on staying in shape."
– Karl Ulrich
"Awesome experience every time. This was my 3rd program and I just loved it again! it’s been like a retreat to me, is the best way to start my day 🙂 and improve my life."
– Claudia Behm
""This is wonderful experience and I personally feel that my immune levels improved lot and I become more flexible."
– Praveen Renangi
" Definitely felt an increase in energy. Really enjoyed the classes, especially the one where there was an emphasis on spending a little more time in each Asana. I really felt the deep stretches and understood the meaning of the Asana being comfortable and yet stable. I did not want to come out of some poses! Overall, I think the class offers a very good blend of Asanas, Pranayama and background information about different aspects of Yoga."
– Shilpa Nagaraj
""On day one–I really want to quit! I thought— this is NOT for me. I even wanted to quit at week two. Then we did the slow yoga–holding poses and I no longer wanted to quit…that was spiritual. I so enjoyed the class and felt stronger after the 21 days."
– Marianne Burke
""One of the most positive things I have done for myself. Subhash was wonderful. The 6 am was a little tough, but ok. I was happy with every aspect of class, just wish I could have stayed for the meditation one. May be back soon."
– Joanne Healey
"I thoroughly enjoyed the class. It was the best yoga class that I’ve ever taken. Subhash Ji made everyone feel welcome and worked with each person on their individual physical challenges."
– Shelley Bhatia
"Wonderful experience. Muscles that we never knew existed were exercised. It was a true transformation as stated in the course objective. Words cannot describe the experience. One must attend to feel it. Subhashji, we truly thank you from bottom of our heart for all the resources you have provided to continue our daily practice."
– Prakash Ramaswamy
"The 21 Day Yoga program was a wholesome and truly inspiring experience. There was so much sincerity in your teaching and you gave us so many life lessons that we can replay in our heads whenever we want some guidance. Right from OHM to the final Shanti Mantra every second of the class was amazing. It was a wonderful group and thank you all for all your contributions in the form of questions and your experiences.
I would recommend this to anyone who thinks Yoga is not for them. It is a complete workout for the body and mind. Please come and experience it and it will make a difference in your lives."
– Savitha Ram
"The only word i can say is wonderful,After couple of days of classess i wondered why i din’t take these classes before, but still glad i finally did take the class. For 21 days i really felt like i have been transformed to a different world and learnt so much about myself and my life."
– Ravi Vasireddy
Level 2 Yoga Feedback
The best value for my money of any yoga classes I’ve had the pleasure to experience. High quality instruction, well paced, diversity within a similar structure daily making it easy to follow and build upon, high quality video with the opportunity to see more challenging views from multiple angles. The value is increased by the generous availability and access to the course recordings for revisiting all or any portion you feel you didn’t quite capture well the first time.
Major takeaways: The depth and breadth of knowledge of the instructor on all aspects of yoga–asanas, pranayama, meditation–and the yoga lifestyle with spiritual underpinnings. Access to a library of resources built over many years including links for deepening learning in a wide range of aspects of yoga, items to purchase online that support your health or practice and an opportunity to be a part of the Integral Yoga Studio community. I wouldn’t change the course content. I really value the recordings and just have a minor suggestion on the video recording; where I expected to see the instructor most of the time, for a few moves the camera seemed stuck on one course participant. I was disappointed not to have an eye on the instructor for this brief period and the benefit despite that was to really listen and sense whether my body was doing what I heard.
– Penelope Gardner
I really enjoyed this 21-day Level 2 Yogasana course. I practice basic yoga quite regularly. With hundreds of asanas practiced during the course, the bar has been raised. There is so much to learn. Asanas targeting different parts of the body like core, hamstrings, knees, hamstrings make Yoga very interesting. A complete workout for body and mind.
– Venu Kadari
Excellent! I need to work on my core. I missed pranayama and meditation. the level 2 really built up my strength. Your intensive and immersion classes are great. It was tough to do 1.75 hours but that is part of building tapas.
– Brenda Cleveland
Subhash, I loved the level 2 of the 21 days!! I enjoy these intensives so much, and the asana focused ones are so great! This was so valuable to me at this time in my life, you have no idea. I recently lost a little weight and also strength, and during these 21 days I started to see a lot of my strength come back, this was precious to me, it made me so happy! Plus I learned some new poses, and the harmony of this group was great! I hope you keep offering these along with the other intensives! I love your classes Subhash! Thank you once again, you are a true inspiration for me!!! This was wonderful! I liked doing the Trataka at the begining of the class, I would suggest to keep it that way. One thing I felt after the days we did a bit more pranayama was the need for a couple minutes quietly after we were done, like maybe 3 minutes for a short meditation before closing the session. I know time is short though, I understand it is not always possible.
– Ana Cardia
This is the fourth intensive I’ve taken and there is good reason I continue to sign up for these early morning sessions despite not being a morning person. The extensive knowledge shared is such a gift. As a new/inexperienced yoga teacher, it is essential that I continue to deepen my own knowledge and on-the-mat experience of yoga, and these intensives support me in doing so. The low cost of the program is incredibly generous. Thank you so much Subhash. 1. “There is no place for the ego in your yoga practice”. 2. Bhagavad Gita- this was not covered in my 200H YTT and I haven’t done the course yet in my 300H YTT so I really enjoyed starting the sessions with these verses. 3. Keep trying, keep going. There’s no destination in yoga so enjoy the practice. In the fall, with the shorter days, I feel I need more sleep in the morning so a later start time would be amazing but I understand this start time accommodates people with M-F jobs and/or children in school, plus it really is lovely to start the day with such a well rounded practice.
– Erin Flanagan
Excellent !! The challenging asanas ! The pace of the class and of course the yoga Nidra 🙏😊 Loved every bit of it.
– Soumya Raghav
Excellent as always. Comprehensive, covers all aspects of Yoga. Got the practice done early. if you’re consistent with your practice it’ll peel away layers of negative behavior without your even trying, you feel more clear.
– Camille Grace
Pranayama and Meditation Intensive
“Had a wonderful time. Though i was having lot of lower back issues, for some reason i never had issues doing the stretching exercises. This has given me confidence to continue with yoga.
Having a daily early morning class really helps and is really the best time to do yoga.
Thanks so much”
– Satish Kumar
“It was eye opening experience. I always wanted to get into yoga but until now I was not able to find one that taught in a holistic way.”
– Satish Manikoth
“I had a great opportunity to learn some basics about Patanjali Yoga System. It was a very enlightening experience to learn from Subhash Mittal, a very sincere and learned student-cum-instructor. I regained my confidence in Patanjali Yoga to improve my life. Yoga is meant for not only physical fitness but it also connects us with the universal consciousness.”
– Parshottam Patel
“Wonderful and not at all what I expected. I learned so much about different breathing techniques and how the breathing affects the way you think and how it helps you to be healthier and also helps and is necessary for yoga to do it correctly. Also learning all the breathing with locks and with fast breathing which detox you ;they helped me because I have a lot of anxiety and I have always been doing shallow breathing and it really helped loosen up my body and helped me feel much healthier.”
– Camille Bautista
“I had a good learning experience. The classes were well balanced and i enjoyed the discussions in the end immensely. I am already feeling the subtle effects of pranayama (kapalabhati) and I hope I will reap the benefits for years to come.”
– Rahul Ramasubramanian
“Very enlightening, and energizing. Subhash Ji is an excellent yoga teacher, and every class is loaded with a lot of information, and practice. Subhash Ji is very encouraging, and shares all the resources and information which is very helpful for my own daily yoga practice. I highly recommend this class, as I see a lot of benefits in my life.”
– Dharm Gupta
“A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! I am a lifetime novice in yoga and meditation, starting and stopping my practice, over and over again. At age 65, I knew that I would either commit to this path of health and peace, or suffer. I’ve never attempted an intensive of any kind before but decided to take a chance on Subhash’s 14 day intensive, getting up at 5:00 am each day to do it. I made all 14 days, learned more than I ever expected, and was actually sad when the intensive ended. Wonderful to learn so much new about myself at this age.
Pranayama (breath work) is an extraordinarily powerful practice in it’s own right. Subhash pronounced at the start that I would have more energy everyday. And did I ever !!! What a revelation.”
– Jim Lyda
“Loved the Program. Amazing Program to provide a complete experience.”
– Sahitya Kistangari
“Very good. I have more energy throughout the day.”
– Shraddha Mudvari
“wonderful! very refreshing and energising!”
– Rajeshwari Reddy
“It was a great experience. Not being a morning person at all it was challenging to get up very early every morning, but I liked it. What a great way to start the day with a high energy level. The ten-day challenge showed and made us feel what a difference daily practice can make (vs. only once a week).”
– Tim Ehlich
“Wonderful and motivating. Each day built on the experiences of the previous day almost seamlessly – like a beautiful structure coming into existence step by step – on the last day one did feel ‘why does it have to end ?’ It has become my first step for an inward journey which should have begun long ago but somewhere got postponed !”
“The peace that comes from meditation – I have always found meditation to be too passive and time consuming to see results. The methods taught made me realise that it is the quality of meditation that matters and that can be achieved in a short span with the right technique.”
“sitting cross legged on the floor was an impossibility for me. Even sitting on the floor with legs folded close to the body was a problem – I could do this with some degree of comfort at the end of 12 days.
– Lakshmi Madhusoodanan
One word–excellent!
Three take-aways:
1. group yoga is better than individual yoga– more like one coal igniting the other in the group; more like a chain reaction.
2.just pranayama by itself can be very good.
3. Getting to know S M and his website with a wealth of information and personal experience
– Sunderesan Madhusoodanan
“Quite delightful. All my expectations were met. I wanted to continue to be centered during a very stressful time and I was able to do so and also able to keep energy levels up.”
-Patty Walsh
“Wonderful!! I learned so much about the history and philosophy of Hatha yoga in 12 days. Subhash is a wealth of knowledge and has a way of teaching that is easy to comprehend.”
– Maddy Strauss
Great! Yoga has lots of health benefits provided I PRACTICE, PRACTICE and PRACTICE. I feel so fortunate to have your classes around and find them just perfect, particularly because you are such a great instructor. Your focus is that a student should begin from wherever he stands now & continue and eventually (s)he’ll get there and not just about getting it right the first time.
– Priti Daswani
I love the way it was paced and presented. Thank you for sharing your knowledge in such a helpful way. The mailings and online resources you provide are very useful in reinforcing what we have learned. They helped me get through my first day of home practice today by answering my questions as I practiced.
The breathing techniques must be very helpful. My energy level is pretty consistent throughout the day now. I am more calm and relaxed and focused on what I am doing.
The class exceeded my expectations. There is always more to learn.
– Sheryl Harmon
“”I really enjoyed the sessions, and felt good the whole day. I felt the energy level was high after doing Yoga and Pranayama. Learned about the chakras and bandhas the first time.”
– Lakhesh Khullar
“It was great. The people in the room contributed so much wonderful energy to the experience. Subhash, as always, your deep knowledge and thoughtful teaching is a gift to all of your students. Everyday was a new learning experience.”
-Kristen Daniels
“After the first couple of days I thought it was great to review the basics….but would I learn anything new…how silly of me…it was a great experience and really worked changing up my morning practice which felt so unmotivating…I got to really witness the effects of pranayam and meet some lovely people…including you Subhash…you are a kind and passionate teacher and I hope to know you for many years…the triangle is lucky to have you.”
– Pam McCarthy
“… Experience of this “”Pranayam/ Meditation Intensive”” has been so much more than mere knowledge! Not to mention the support group of the participants. Each one of us had a set of challenges that we sought to overcome, so we could have this wonderful experience. Subhashji’s guidance is impactful and his unassuming & non-judgemental persona is attractive. I absolutely enjoyed the short talks he gives sprinkled throughout the session. I felt safe , connected and encouraged. “
– Amita Desai
“Excellent and very Energetic.”
– Pushpa Parameswaran
“I must first thank YOU, Subhashji for such a wonderful experience. The 12 day Pranayama intensive was everything I’d imagined it would be, and more! You very clearly explained how each technique was to be practiced, which made this aspect of yoga that much more understandable to the uninitiated. The tidbits of the underlying philosophy made the whole practice more personal.”
– Ramya Kapadia
“My experience was excellent especially in coming to a better understanding of the spiritual aspects of yoga.”
– Jeff Doss
“”I am grateful to have taken the course. I felt relaxation from the beginning of the first session. I felt calmer and more able to take care of business in the rest of my life. My thinking was clearer, my emotions more stable, my body more relaxed, my sense of the divine more realized.
I am also doing other practices/studies that coordinate well with yoga and all of them together are perfectly dovetailing to an enhanced living experience.”
– Wendy Morris
“I think it was a great experience. I looked forward each morning to attending, even though getting up at 5am was not something I usually do, it was not bad at all getting up that early. I appreciate your patience with all of us and the class was very welcoming. I hope to continue practicing what I’ve learned. I also hope to take more classes and attend worshops.”
– Leona Salz
“Subhash is the personification of peace. it is relaxing just to be in his presence. he’s an excellent instructor, in that he’s so explanatory and patient and compassionate and welcoming, especially for those in which the environment may be a bit foreign. i would highly recommend soaking up what he has to teach.”
– Lee
“I could see the difference with the daily yoga practice, compared to weekly once sessions. Felt very fresh and rejuvenated after each class. Subhashji’s instructions are very clear and concise. His style of reviewing each technique and encouraging/spending time answering questions has made this session very effective for beginners like me to become comfortable with most of the breathing techniques taught. Also, the yoga sutras talk was very enlightening.”
– Priya Elango
“I was recharged by the course. The pranayama and meditation were energizing, yet relaxing with a calm, deep meditative tone. Subhash pays attention to every student’s needs and caters to individual’s requirements.”
– Shilpa Surapaneni
“Overall course is great and got Vedic and scientific details on each one of them. I throughly enjoyed the program.”
– Subramanian Venkataraman
“Very educational and inspirational class…..I totally enjoyed the getting to know my classmates and my wonderful teacher. I think this class will become a life changing event for me! Your web page is excellent and very easy to follow.”
– Katherine Pittman
“Great overall experience! Classes were just the right balance of instruction, introduction and application for me to start an understanding of yoga breathing, meditation and stretching principles. I will highly recommend and encourage my friends to attend.”
– Torin Bussey
“Thank you so much for your teachings Subhash; the Asanas for giving me some flexibility that I have not felt for years, the Pranayama for keeping me energized throughout my day and the meditation for giving me techniques for peace for myself and joy to give to others. I hope to continue this for always. You will see me again that is for sure.”
– Alice Rogers
“Overall experience was GREAT! really loved to wake up every morning to attend class, it made me more curious about Yoga and all the components of it and opened to me a new perspective of life, a better one. I know this is a work in progress (I’m still learning and has tons of more things to know) but I’m amazed on how much better and capable I’m now to be more focused and aware about the amazing things happening around me. Thank you so much Subhash for having this passion to teach and share all your knowledge, love and respect for Yoga, it is very, very inspiring.”
– Claudia Behm
“The 12-day Pranayama was a wonderful experience for me and I am really glad I joined this workshop. I have heard about the benefits of yoga from people before but it was during this 12-day workshop that I actually experienced it myself! I learned a lot during the workshop. It was a good balance of asanas and pranayama with some focus on meditation as well. Subhash is a dedicated teacher and very knowledgeable. I really appreciate that Subhash took the efforts to explain how a particular asana or pranayama is beneficial to the body or mind. He often sited excerpts from the ancient text of Yoga (Yoga Sutras) and their interpretations. This made the classes very lively and interesting. This made it easier for me to stick to the routine for those 12-days. When I started the classes, I was skeptical if I would continue with the practice as commitment to any physical exercise has always been a problem with me. For those 12-days, after I returned back from the classes, I felt refreshed. My digestive problems had reduced and I felt lighter in my mind. By the end of the workshop, I had much more knowledge on yoga and more determination than ever to continue the practice of yoga!”
– Krithika Venkataramani
“Hmmmm so here we go! It was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! I simply loved it… it forced me to get up early in the morning, actually do something for me, myself and I….. which I rarely do…. great experience as I was basically introduced to Pranayama and Meditation in this session, I have taken Yoga but mainly practicing Asana… I definitely felt energized through out the day…. however I would really like it to be only on weekdays! PLEASE! I do want to continue this and would like to see a class offered 3-4 days a week which should include Pranayama, Meditation and Asana and be offered throught out the year , not limited to 12 days… 21 days sessions…. Thank you!”
– Fowzia Essani
“It was great to begin the day with a relaxing session of asana, pranayama and meditation before tackling the rest of the day. Attending the session again helped me remember and correct the techniques I had learnt in Subhashji’s previous sessions. As one in the third trimester of pregnancy, the early morning yoga sessions helped reduce anxiety and the general aches and pains that I had been experiencing. It was great to practice yoga with a committed and earnest group of classmates under the gentle guidance of Subhashji”
– Ramya Kapadia
“I really found this class to change me in a very profound way. I have had very stressful health and life experiences over the past 10-15 years and though I have done my yoga asanas, I found that my mind was still not settled and that I had difficulty organizing my thoughts. This pranayama practice seems to effortlessly helped me to calm my mind. This was what I wanted from the sessions and I am happy to say that, without using my mind to try and control it, just the breathing seems to have done something profound. Thank you so much Sabhash, you really create an atmosphere or acceptance, healing and growth.”
– Joanne Healey
“I am so happy that Subhash offered a 12-day program for those of us starting out on our journeys inward. Though I have done many western style yoga classes this class is something special and it was exactly what I was looking for – an experienced teacher and guide who was very well prepared, grounded and patient. The pace was appropriate and always varied in style and presentation. We were also graced with having two special “”breakfast”” get togethers afterwards and my fellow “”mat”” mates couldn’t have been more gracious. I really am connected with what Subhash is doing for those who are seeking and know we will daily continue on our journeys.””
– Marianne Endicott
I had a wonderful experience. I loved making time for myself each day to do something that was truly beneficial to my mind, body, and spirit. The classroom environment was so welcoming and calming. Everyone was there for the same reason, and sharing the experience made it much more meaningful. I loved the fact that the class was structured but still flowed at a gentle (but not too gentle) pace.
3 Take-aways:
1. Before starting the program, I was scared about waking up so early and devoting so much time to this class for 12 consecutive days. Now I’ve learned that pushing through fear is one of the most rewarding things I can do for myself. I had nothing to be scared of, and I gained so, so much from the program.
2. I tend to live too much in the past or the future, and the program taught me techniques to live in the present, and how important living in the present is for my overall well-being.
3. In each class, I was more aware of my emotions and mental state than I was on a normal morning. I want to try to take away this awareness and find it every morning, hopefully helping myself live a more peaceful and self-aware life.”
– Ayla Goktan
3 Take-aways:
1. Incorporate different asanas, pranayama , and meditation techniques by choosing different sets for each day of the yoga practice. 2. Yoga practice is much more than the asanas and physical exercises, it is a path to total peace and joyous living, therefore a study and practice of the theory of yoga is very important. 3. One will not be able to become a yogi in one life time, one just has to keep on working, slowly and steadily and be satisfied with what is possible at the moment.”
– Vasudha Gupta
“I enjoyed the program and learned a lot. Spending 12 consecutive days practicing in class gave me enough new techniques to adapt into an individualized practice at home. I am/was able to use the fresh memory from the class routines and integrate it to my home practice. Being forced to wake up early to get to class really became easier and I found it easy to do for the first five days afterwards. On the other hand, some days I was so tired in class that I found it hard to keep focused, to mediate or to absorb information/ideas. “
– Amber Harmon
“The overall experience was wonderful. I am feeling more connected to myself. Now a days, most of the time, I am applying the simple yoga techniques learnt from you and making my life smoother and refreshing. I am very happy to be the part of your 12-day yoga intensive program. You are an awesome yoga teacher. Thank You for blessing us with yoga.”
– Manisha Chahal
“I had a wonderful experience! Subhash is an excellent teacher with a wonderfully calm demeanor. He has a very wise intelligent presence, I felt lucky just to occupy the same space.
The breathing techniques we practiced, my favorite being the Uddjahi breathing. (forgive my spelling) The constant reminder to connect with myself through strenuous times and that inner peace isn’t as far away as it may seem. I also took away important information on more natural ways of being to carry with me throughout life. (cleansing techniques, philosophy lessons)”
– Jess Larsson
“This was a great session for basic learning of Pranayam/Meditation for me. I learned new methods of breathing and the actual meaning of why do we do that. Overall, the 12 day experience of Yoga was great. I recommend everyone to do this session minimum.
It helped me keep focus and clam all day. I feel more energetic throughout the day. it increased my endurance, strength, flexibility and confidence.”
– Unmesh Acharya
Pranayama Intensive Feedback
Absolutely remarkable! The experience was nothing short of transformative, a pivotal moment that reshaped the very essence of my being. Delving into the profound significance of each breath, I found myself immersed in a journey of self-discovery that left an indelible mark on my psyche and spirit. It’s incredible how something as simple as breathing can wield such profound power, awakening newfound perspectives and igniting a sense of inner harmony. Truly, it was an extraordinary revelation that continues to resonate deeply within me, forever altering the course of my existence. Thank you so much, Subash ji. 1. Discerning between the whims of the ego and the wisdom of the intellect is paramount. 2.Forget the conventional wisdom of eight hours; it’s about the quality, not the quantity, of sleep. Pranayam makes the quality of sleep better. 3. During this event, I had the privilege of crossing paths with extraordinary individuals along with Subhash ji.
– Naveen Kumar
My wife and I were fortunate to come across such a great yogi (teacher) Subhash Mittal. As he studied Patanjali Yoga Sutras in-depth, it reflects in his yoga classes as to what the real goal of yoga is. Even though I was practicing yoga intermittently, there are a lot of subtle things I learned from him.
Subhash ji is inspiring, loving, caring, and softspoken person. He shares his personal experiences so we could relate easily with our own situations.
Our sincere gratitude to Subhash as we got an opportunity to learn Asanas and Pranayama from him!
- As I wasn’t a morning person before, I was able to break the pattern and got up early and got on the mat as I look forward to his class to practice yoga.
- The Pranayama kept my energy levels high until the end of the day.
- After the completion of our 14-day session, he motivated us by providing the daily yoga practice plan to continue our yoga journey on a daily basis without excuses and that helped me a lot.
– Srinivas Ravi & Lakshmi Ravi
Excellent, with proven results if we keep practicing what was taught! Practice, practice, practice!
– Patricia Nadabar
It was very informative and an inspirational experience to start doing breathing exercises more often. I learned how to start my own breathing exercise practice. I learned about some of the most important breathing exercises. I learned the most important breathing exercises to use when in a stressful situation.
– Christie Agnew
A super experience…I never tire of Subhash’s class and never not learn something new to help me on my journey to self-realization. “That breathing can impact you emotionally, that mediation is the yogic priority for the path to self-awareness but is necessarily supported by Ashtanga Yoga (eight-fold path).
– Martin Doyle
Just what I needed during difficult times. Pranayama techniques, Bigger picture of Yoga, Effects of early morning practice. I have been having trouble sleeping due to new health condition and personal issues. Most days I fall asleep around 3 AM and it’s hard to wake up at 5 AM and get through the day’s demands. The days I did wake up I felt amazing. Seeing improvement in sleep routine.
– Sylvia Rabi
Great! ” – 1) Appetite Reduction, 2) Aversion from eating meat and anything unhealthy, 3) No energy crashes, 4) Lowered stress levels”
– Dhruti Chavda
Subhashji, I really enjoyed the session. I came into the class with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised with how much I gained. I learnt the right way to breathe, and the side effect that I loved was my resting heart rate came down by 9 beats/min. 1. There’s a right way to breathe, 2. Breathing can be meditating, 3. Be mindful in whatever you do.
– Hema Pandey
Very good; it helped to increase my focus, thus bringing me close to the goal of meditating, remaining calm during stressful situations, and avoiding stress junk eating. Reducing my asana practices to 20-30min to incorporate pranayama in the 1-hour yoga practice would be beneficial. The breathing exercises helped me learn how to breathe to total lung capacity. In 14 days, I saw the abovementioned changes, so I believe I can increase my energy levels with consistent daily practice.
-Samtha
I enjoyed it. It will refresh my home practice. Keep a regular yoga practice going for healthy body, calm mind, and a glimpse at understanding what is truly important.
Brenda Clevelan
As with all intensives I really enjoyed it! It helped me get back to early rising and pranayama! “Pranayama really makes a difference for me! Waking up early is how I feel best I loved the talk about the nadis and a little more depth in pranayama, its benefits truly go beyond we can imagine”
My suggestion is for a 21 day Pranayama Intensive, with deeper explanation on the benefits of pranayama, the nadis, chakras and kundalini. I really enjoyed day 11 when you talked about it Subhash, would love to learn more from you as I think your way of explaining yoga is very easy to follow and comprehend.
Ana Cardia
The 14 day pranayam journey with Subhashji was truely wonderful learning experience. Not only I learned Pranayama , but also so many important concepts of yoga sutras was covered. Subhashji’s encourgment and suggestions on how to built home based routine was truely helpful. Also all the recources was amazing! I felt so much energized , happier , peaceful and surely saw difference on how I was breathing through out the day. I am looking forward to do more workshops with Subashji to countine my learning process. I am deeply thankful and very satisfied that I found such a knowledgable teacher , who truely works towards correct learning methods. In one word , my experience was ” Amazing” ! Correct techniques for Pranyama , the meaning of key yoga sutras related to Pranyama and how to built life long practice.
Ruchita Kapadia Raval
Loved it. I am blessed to be near Subhas Ji. Continue to do the breathing exercises, do stretching and try meditation. The program content was apt and very well fitted for my needs. a BIG THANKS to Subhas Ji.
Natarajan Muthukaruppan
It was an awesome experience overall, I learnt all the pranayama techniques the right way. The Yoga sutras/Gita explanation daily was truly one of the best part of the class as you explain what are the goals of yoga and why it is important. Practicing Yoga Nidhra everyday taught me how to keep my mind from wandering and try to focus on relaxing by going through each part of body. I liked the way you used the actual asana names like Marjariasana rather than the cat/cow pose, or the English translated names, felt authentic. “1. – Priyha Thirukonda
Wonderful eye opening experience and Fortunate to have Subhash-ji around accessible in this area. The best investment I ever made.
– Laxmi Vellanki
It was very enjoyable As always—pranayama is so important to focus and meditation, can calm or invigorate. You introduced basic pranayama and built from there so that we were prepared for each next step.
– Brenda Cleveland
Amazing! Practice is important, continuity helps and breathing right helps in so many ways
– Anu Surya
Once again I really enjoyed this class!! Keeping a pranayama routine helps me feel good! Every time I do this intensive I feel so good 🙂
– Ana Cardia
This is my first instructor-led pranayama course and it far exceeded my expectations. Subhash ji is a very knowledgeable guruvu and he knows how to teach effectively. Highly organized and in spite of the online session, it was seamless and almost felt like we were in person in the studio. Sessions started on time and Subhash ji gradually introduced new concepts and ensured that we all understood and practiced as prescribed. Highly engaging session and patiently answered all our questions and doubts. 90 minutes passed like 9 seconds 😊.I personally felt highly energized throughout the day and was more focused and happy all day long. This is really a refreshing and transforming session and I am looking forward to the meditation course.
– Shashi Jakkipally
Wonderful as always! Every time I attend the class, I learn something new! Lot of energy all through the day. Also, the techniques you teach are really helping me with my allergies a lot!!! It is so fortunate that I can enjoy the outdoors with out any worries. Thank you so much for all that you do, Subhashji!!!
– Sajini Nair
It was an amazing 14 days for me. I was skeptical about joining when my husband Sundar recommended after his experience. Having learnt from other programs previously, I thought this will be another course I join and then don’t practice. But I was convinced this was going to be different within couple of days. Everything about the program, right from the early morning start, the repetitive explanation of each technique, your patient answers for all our questions, being connected to you and the class virtually were all of the wonderful factors that made this a great experience for me. ” “1. Early morning yoga is the best 2. Trying patiently and repetitively, instead of pushing too much and giving up soon 3. Pranayama helps with chronic health issues like migraine that no modern medicine has helped & there are certainly so many more like that to be explored and practiced to benefit us.”
– Abi Krishnamurthy
The Pranayama Intensive was a rich experience full of wisdom and patient training from a true master. “1. How to incorporate the breathing techniques into my daily practice. 2. Understanding the “why” of these techniques; 3. How the techniques can help meditation be more focused”
– Linda Griffin
Wonderful! Incorporating pranayama techniques while in a yoga pose, metronome assisted breathing, a community feeling.
– Dhruti Dholakia
Very impressive. This is something that I received from this program will be useful for me for life long. Performing Pranayama ( as demonstrated in intensive) in right way is helping me to do Meditation much easier. I remain much more alert now throughout the day than before I took this course.
– Manjusri Basu
wonderful! consistent breathing, cognizance of holding breath, importance of daily exercises.
– Clare Lewis
Great! Pranayama increased energy levels. I can get up early. There’s so much to learn in life.
– Srilakshmi Alagharu
Class was excellent and very beneficial. Even though I have learned asanas, I had not had much instruction on pranayama and meditation before. This class exposed me to breathing techniques which I am sure will benefit me in improving my overall health and focus. Over the course of the two weeks, I really felt refreshed and energized after class. What I like about your classes is the fact that you weaved in the benefits of each exercise. In addition you weaved in the theory behind the practice and also incorporated other elements like reading the Gita. Both added to the overall experience and learning in class. I am very happy to have had the opportunity to attend this class despite being in a different city. Ultimate objective of yoga practice is stilling of the wavering mind.
– Archana Raghavan
Good overall experience. I learned more about the different types of pranayama. I learned about which types of pranayama I was most comfortable doing in my own practice. Based on your description of each pranayama, I figured out sequencing for future classes.
– Alexis Lech
It was my first time taking pranayama classes. After the course, I feel empowered to start my own home practice. I feel that I have all the tools to get started right away with home practice. It was truly a positive life changing experience. Your clear instruction and attention to detail made the learning easier. I will keep coming back to more of your classes.
– Divya Vemareddy
Extremely fulfilling and useful! Learned proper sequence of Pranayamas, refinement of the process we were doing earlier, and learned importance of Meditation.
– Dr. Rakesh Mittal
Very enriching and beneficial experience! Commitment, mindfulness while inhaling and exhaling, disciplining the body and mind for overall well being.
– Sangeeta Ramachandran
Fantastic teaching style. Motivated to sign up for another class. Improved my sleep routine, daily mood, and energy levels.
– Anuraag Agarwal
Exceeded expectations! A step further to develop complete yoga practice, awareness about different breathing techniques, experiencing a calm mind even after a chaotic day.
– Ashish Bhateja
This was a very nourishing and supportive experience. Subhash has a very calming energy that translates to the way he guides and instructs the class. His depth of knowledge is expansive and he offers a wellspring of resources on his website. I look forward to attending more classes with Subhash. If one wants to improve their health and become more in tune with their inner life, create a daily practice that includes pranayama, meditation and Asanas. For me, I must always pay attention to my breathing.
– Cori Roth
Excellent! this was second time taking the course and was a great refresher.
– John Gregory
Very Good 👍🙏🙂 A very Wholesome experience of health. A very Wholesome experience of health. Good understanding of Breathing techniques. Benefits of Pranayamam & Meditation.
– Anita Jagath
Very beneficial and good. Wisdom nuggets and Pranayama.
– Uma venkatraman
Overall, the program is very good in terms of content and clarity. I was looking forward for the 90 minute session everyday and I found the energy level up the whole day. The pranayama’s in the morning helped me to stay calm and focused. I have setup a routine to wake up by 5.30 AM in the morning and will continue.
– Sundar Kannan
It was a well rounded, beautiful experience of learning and practicing pranayama, asanas and meditation. Benefits of breathing and different techniques involved in breathing. Different cleansing techniques that can be easily implemented in our daily lives. Food intake for overall health.
– Shobha Paradarami
Lovely! 1) pranayama as a practice that can be improved upon in specific ways (not just breathe however I feel like) 2) consistent practice is key to deepening my understanding of yoga 3) intellect and the ego- I’ve been much more aware of my knee jerk reactions (ego) to things and giving my intellect a chance to contribute.
The course is well designed. It is early but it’s nice to have no reason not to make it. The fee is fair, if anything, it’s too low. I would understand if the fee went up but I appreciate how the low cost likely wouldn’t keep anyone from pursuing these teachings.
– Erin Flanagan
Excellent! Lots of knowledge on Pranayama and good practices. I suggest to spend little more time on actual Pranayama practice in class. I felt we spent less time on actual practice as we spent more time on other routines and information sharing.
– Uday Dodla
Excellent experience, I have got hope that yoga will help stabilizing my health and mind.
– Mukund
Wonderful experience as always.
– Sajini
Meditative. ( 🙂 ) Always a wonderful experience to attend classes you teach. I really enjoy them and take away so much that I try to pass on to students I teach.
– Brenda
I feel positive, re-calibrated and re-charged to continue with the routine! I enjoyed getting into the (a) discipline of a routine to be on (before) time by 6 am; (b) I enjoyed the atmosphere of class – students (warm, open, non-judgemental) , place (minimalist , functional, clean), the energy (calm, peace); (c) Also, liked the format of class (Asana+Pranayama+Meditation) interspersed with Subhash-ji’s calm, benevolent demeanour and pleasant voice explaining the philosophy in small doses and straight from authentic source -sanskrit words from Patanjali/Pradeepika texts; Subhash-ji’s personal attention to guide the students gently and always starting class exactly on time) (d) Subhash-ji is equally vested in the student’s commitment to continue with the practice on an ongoing basis …to that extent Subhash-ji is committed to providing all resources (his recordings etc. ) …this personal attention is very encouraging and a blessing …the mark of a true teacher to make the student into a ‘disciple’ with ‘discipline’ and guidance! Deep gratitude , love and best wishes for this experience. I have taken many mini-sessions off and on and it always help to come back to get our personal practice ‘re-calibrated’ from the most wonderful teacher of an all-encompassing , comprehensive Yoga Practice.
– Uma
This is my second time attending the Meditation Intensive and I continue to learn and enhance my meditation practice with Subhash’s guidance. The language and terminology can be a challenge for me, so even though some of the material may be repetitive from the first time, it is very helpful for me in gaining knowledge and respect for the practice of yoga. And, Subhash always has new stories and ideas to share with us and we have new questions, so the discussions are interesting and informative.
– Gail
One of memorable experience in my life, Practical way of knowing awareness.
– Sandeep Kakani
Amazing! Attending more classes will make the practice so much easier.
Mind and body health improved a lot. Subhashji explains everything so nicely and we get an idea not only how to do yoga but also why we have to do it. Subhashji is an awesome teacher!
– Sajini Nair
I thoroughly enjoyed these 14 days of the Pranayama Intensive. Subhash’s instruction is clear and the pace of his classes allows us to think about what we are doing and ask questions before going forward to the next thing. A wonderful way to start the day! Developed deeper understanding of Pranayama practices and motivated me to incorporate them more fully into my daily yoga.
Appreciated continued exposure to yoga philosophy.
– Gail Coles
I truly enjoyed the class. Love the way the class was structured. It started us at the beginning and built on that. Every time I take the class I learn a little more and go deeper into my pranayama practice. Thank you for offering you time to do this. Pranayama is good for developing calmness in my spirit; I begin to understand my behavior by the many insights I have during the practice; finally, I have found that my anger and fear diminish with a regular practice.
– Brenda Cleveland
I really enjoyed the pranayama intensive overall. Subhash has a clear and concise way of teaching the techniques, and gives ample repetition and time to practice them in class. By the end of the intensive, I had a good working knowledge of several pranayama techniques and was comfortable practicing them on my own at home.
I will admit that I have been hesitant to join an intensive because of the early start time, but once I committed to waking up early and practiced it for two weeks, I have found that it’s made me more productive and less stressed. I plan to continue waking up early as a result of participating in this class.
– Christina Thompson
Fantastic! Clear Instuctions and guidance; Authenticity of source for instructions; Excellent Time Management.
– Rammohan Yallapragada
Super satisfied and grateful to have been a participant. This was my first experience in a workshop of this kind and it did not disappoint. I joined the workshop because I wanted to learn some effective techniques for breathing and stress management, which I was able to learn relatively quickly and efficiently. This workshop teaches you fundamentals that are important for every aspect of life. I highly recommend!

It was a wonderful experience specially to restart my health routine n life style again!
– Sujata Nikam
Amazing experience learning yoga with Shubhash! A must do in lifetime.
– Hetal Tank
Great! Most of us learn by repetition. It might be a good idea to allocate 15-20 mins and practice every day for the ‘basic’ pranayama without any variation so it becomes an involuntary set.
– Vimal Krishnamurthi
Pranayama is a very important part of yoga. It helps me focus, calms me during the practice and throughout the day, helps me sleep better and also helps me be more open to others.
– Brenda Cleveland
I participated in the Pranayama Intensive via Facebook Live and found it to be a very valuable experience and certainly worthwhile of my time. The sessions were informative, clearly taught and interesting. I look forward to incorporating these breathing practices more fully into my personal yoga sessions, now having a better understanding of technique and significance. Some days my Ego tried to influence me to hit the snooze button, but my Intellect got me up and onto my yoga mat by 6AM. Even though I participated from home and could have watched the video later in the day, it was important for me to commit to the 6AM timeframe. Definitely exceeded my expectations!
– Gail Coles
This was a fantastic experience! It was a wonderful way to start my day and hope my travel schedule allows me to participate again soon. I enjoyed the variety of the different breathing exercises and found it fascinating how much more energy I felt in the afternoons. I also felt that breathing relaxed my muscles much more than just asanas. I feel like I have a much better sense of the role of both in preperation for mediation.
– Anne Mikelonis
I love the Pranayama Intensive, this one is by far my very favorite intensive program. I love the way I feel after the class, the breathing exercises open up my lungs and makes me feel really good. Also, I feel more centered and balanced throughout my day when I begin with the yoga practice. Before I used to practice mostly asanas, but now Pranayama became my favorite part of yoga. Thank you Subhash! 🙂
– Ana Cardia
Positive and refreshing experience!
– Ashwin Palani
Awesome! Loved the pace, the individual attention Subhash ji manages to provide even when there are 30 students, the passion with which Subhash Ji teaches is inspiring and motivating.
– Anu Surya
The Pranayama intensive exceeded my expectations. I really liked the way the class weaved the pranayama techniques into all other aspects of yoga. It was not just on technique, but also covered application, benefits, and theory behind them. I only had a little exposure to a few of the techniques that were covered and have always had an interest to learn more. With the internet, the information is available and relatively easy to find, but finding an instructor to give some history and discuss the experiences with the techniques is not easy to find. I am grateful to have found Subhash and his studio and feel this will be an integral part of my teacher training.
– Scott Hicks
After Intensive I feel more active, strong, enthusiastic and vital energetic in my body especially in my lungs. I started to wake up at 6 am with pleasure and practice Subhash’s recommended daily routine. I improved my Ujjayi Pranayama and started to practice Kapalabhati, Rapid and Bhramari every day. I started to practice Neti with nasal cleansing pot. I started to reread the authentic yoga scripture the Yoga Sutras which supports me in my everyday life.
– Nina Ellis
Had a wonderful experience, the class has such a good balance of Yoga, Pranayama and introduction to meditation. Every morning I woke up fresh looking forward for the class.
Love the enthusiasm of Subhashji and the world of information that is available on his blog. Subhashji is so readily available and is willing to answer any questions / doubts that come up. He is very knowledgeable and is practicing what he teaches.
– Srinivas Sunkara
Enjoyed the training and it exceeded my expectation in every account.
– Santha Kumar
The program was very well designed and Subhas Ji guided us step by step with all details of Pranayama techniques. I am not sure if i would known so much from elsewhere. The reason of doing Pranayama and the benefits were felt by me by the time we finished the Program.
– Amitabh Misro
Very informative and positive as always. Every workshop I take with you I learn more and more, you might be teaching the same thing that you have taught before that I’ve already heard, but maybe I wasn’t readyto hear it before, so it’s like reading a good book or hearing a beautiful piece of music, you learn something new every time.
– Camille Bautista
A GREAT EXPERIENCE….. This class had brought my awareness about pranayama and yoga to another level. It's truly enlightening. The classes are very well balanced. Pranayama is really helpful, my energy levels are consistent through out the day. Looking forward to join more sessions and workshops. Thank you Subhash Ji… You are an excellent instructor…. Your respect to YOGA is very inspiring…
– Varsha Peddi
This was a wonderful experience. I have come to realize how much breathing can positively enhance my mood, vitality, thinking and comfort. Subhash is an excellent teacher, grounding the class in both the techniques and the underlying history and philosophy. Several times during the 14 days he sent out updates via email, listing what we had covered and what was coming up. Included in these updates were links to additional information, photos, videos and audio that help the student learn and enjoy the experience of Yoga. Subhash's enthusiasm and diligence as an instructor made the intensive a true pleasure to attend.
– Jim Lyda
I absolutely LOVED the Pranayama intensive, it was one of the best experiences I had so far and for sure the best one with yoga ever!
I never before saw yoga the way I do now. I learned so much with you Subhash. I truly appreciate your knowledge and wisdom, I hope one day, as I grow up and mature, I can find myself in a position of being just like you are today. What an inspiration you are for me and what great value I got from this class!
I love all I learned, and I am looking forward to learning more!
I like the way class was designed, the breathing techiniques, repetition, the explanations behind each breathing and why it is good, the benefits it brings to the body, whether is is cooling or generate heat.
I felt amazing with these breathing techniques, I never heard of them before and I love each one, I like the way I felt after class too, like as my lungs were clear and open, and my energy level was so high, I truly enjoyed that.
My goal sure is to develop this practice at home, create the discipline and daily routine, so I can practice my pranayama and meditation anywhere I am!
– Ana Cardia
Useful, stimulating and health enhancing. Three takeaways:
For yoga to be life enhancing;
1) Practice it everyday.
2) yoga has eight limbs; to say I practice yoga everyday means I try practicing all eight aspects of Yoga meaning, Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama —- and the rest.
3) Set a schedule so it is easier to make one's practice a daily ritual.
– Vasudha Gupta
I thoroughly enjoyed the 12-day pranayama intensive class. I came away feeling calmer and healthier (I didn't drink any alcohol or have any animal products except yogurt and cheese and half and half). I found that I bickered less with my husband. That's a great thing because a little bickering can lead to some full blown arguments at times. I was worn out from the classes in part because I wasn't used to the early start but also because I may have tried to hard. I believe when I practice at home and become more familiar with pranayama techniques, I will relax into it more.
– Brenda Cleveland
I learned so much as usual and thank you so much for your generosity of heart and knowledge.
– Camille Bautista
It has been transformation for me. This was my very first introduction to yoga. I just finished 21 day Yoga & 11 day Pranayama back to back classes. I absolutely love everything about this experience. Now I am doing yoga everyday, considering my busy schedule, I never thought I will devote so time. All credit goes to Subhashji, he is very systematic. Along with purpose, benefits he also explains philosophy and ancient context which actually makes big difference.
It's very clean, yoga-friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend the Integral Yoga studio to anyone interested. From my experience, this is absolutely the best place if you want to get introduced to Yoga.
– Milind Bagade
Enjoyed the pace, promptness, the "Why" discussion, the "how" demonstration and personal feedback and the caring guidance of Subhash-ji. Thank you!
– Uma Venkatraman
Meditation Intensive Feedback
As usual an outstanding and this experience is someone needs experience and cannot be explained in words.
– Srinidhi Bapu
It was great. Your focus on explaining the “why” for the practices is very insightful and helps land the practice effectively. Thank you! Ability to persist in practice despite active thought drift, mental calmness, and improved ability to pause before reactions in daily life.
– Shishir Biyyala
Eexcellentexcellent! meditating is not easy. but its a practice thats very much worth it with benefits beyond description i dont know that i can add anything to improve. i think the class is well structured and i really appreciate the bits where we discuss the old texts and the different limbs of yoga.
– Dominique Deshommes
Enjoyed the program and learnt a lot about different yoga theory, pranayama and meditation techniques. 1. Need a daily practice to get effective mediation 2. community of people to practice with makes a huge difference, especially early and 3. Having good grounding in why we do certain pranayama is very important to begin good dharana regiment. Little more practice with same/similar sequence would have helped for me as a relative beginner, as it takes time for the practice to sink in.
– Kamlesh Shah
Very fulfilling, loved being in a group setting for this kind of a program “Multiple options to practice meditationVery fulfilling, loved being in a group setting for this kind of a program “Multiple options to practice meditationRight way to apply bandhasRight balance between pranayama, yoga exercises and meditation”
– Pratik Phadnis
This was my first practice of meditation up to 10 minutes plus or minus. My only prior experience was up to 5 minutes and totally the result of the power of suggestion. After 14 days of practice, I am committed to continue the momentum. I like practicing as part of my overall yoga commitment because my space dedicated for asana and pranayama is already private, quiet and nearly sacred. I can more easily focus in this space and my desire to for all three practices as yoga is high. Being aware of EGO and its role in creating anxiety, and any number of negative thoughts makes it most important to minimize in impact. The recognition that to gain the benefits of meditation, as with asana and pranayama, requires practice–5, 10, 15 and step-by-step I’ll want to invest more time because I’m gaining more benefit. The power of mantra to enhance focus as well as the effect of the words/sounds/energy required to repetitively chant. I’ve never used mala beads before but with an appreciation now for the #108 and the increased focus they enable, I intend to give them a try as I grow in this practice.
– Penelope Gardner
Excellent! Dharna practice, yoga nidra, mantra meditation More time for Dharana & meditation
– Ashok Mittal
I enjoyed the Meditation Intensive, learned some new things, revisited important practices “- the importance of Dharana practice before meditation – the reasons why we do asana and pranayama before meditation- strengthening of my own meditation practice” I like the format as is! I would like the 4 rounds of surya namaskar everyday, regardless if we do other stretches, simply because I feel that helps me stretch the body and prepare to stay seated for the dharana and meditation portions of the class.
– Ana Cardia
It truly was a journey like Subhasji likes to call these intensive programs. You learn a LOT and everyday is different at the same time he makes sure he recaps the techniques that were taught throughout the program. One Word: Amazing experience and a great soul!” “1.) Course content – It’s amazing how much is covered in this program. You learn not only what the program is supposed to cover but also the Yoga philosophy and life style. 2.) Knowledge – His willingness to not only teach but encouraging people to ask him questions all the time is very much appreciated. The spontaneity with which he can answer and refer books and authors is divinely.3.) Professionalism – Whether it’s the course content, the timing, the schedule, the emails, the communication, the flexibility, the willingness to share, his genuine interest to make sure people benefit from his teachings is very evident” Looks like many people are benefitting with the online classes. Guess this allows his presence to be reached to many more out of state people, so although we miss the in person experience this format can be continued for a little longer.
– Sridevi Kadari
I absolutely enjoyed the 14-Day Meditation Intensive program. Subhashji’s knowledge and passion for Yoga and to teach that to others can be felt by each and every student who attends his programs. His method of teaching where he coupled the sessions with a good mix of asanas and pranayams along with meditation while also explaining certain principles outlined by Patanjali in the Yogasutra made this whole program very interesting. The various Dharna practices helped me focus and made my mind still for a few minutes during Dhyana. I could see that I felt a lot more relaxed and calm through the day after attending the session and found more time in the day as well. Its really an enriching experience and I am committed to continuing with meditation from now on. Thank you so much Subashji! Trataka dharna practice and the countdown to 30 breaths were on the best dharna practices that helped my focus. Mind will get distracted but focus will build over time with continued practice.
– Rashmi Nair
This intensive was a wonderful experience, and I especially enjoyed the variety of topics we were able to cover in each session. As I mentioned before, it felt like we were able to practice or discuss all eight limbs of yoga each time we met! The focus on dharana practices was very helpful, and I liked how we were able to practice a few different forms of dharana on multiple days. This helped crystallize my understanding of the practices, so I can feel confident doing them at home.
– Christina Thompson
Wonderful! Couldn’t have asked for more. This course opened up a whole new world – internal world that is. This course offered a nice balance of practices coupled with knowledge sessions. It opened up a whole new dimension for my personal well being!
– Venu Kadari
This is a well running class, a complete package to understand all practices and techniques that lead up to meditation. Any thing that you can add would be an improvement. May be a sharing of how each one’s meditation went would be good like, how many times they got distracted and had to come back to medicate , is it lot of times or few times. Did it that improve with any particular dharana technique or with number of days?
Thank you Subhash ji for your wonderful training, you are contributing greatly to the community by making people’s minds calmer with your well guided meditation and yoga classes that are sincere and based on ancient principles of yogic wisdom.
– Sumana Ramayanam
This is my first attempt to meditate and I was always curious to know what kind of experience will I have, what should I be feeling, am I doing it correctly. I was distracted by thoughts constantly during the first week, my mind naturally pulled me in many directions and was wondering if I will ever be able to meditate properly and that’s where Subhashji’s lecture came to play. When he told us this is exactly what’s going to happen and to just embrace it and that it will take longer than we anticipate. I soon started to let it go and realized that I will sooner or later discover the direction of mindfulness and that the journey is the important part in fact that the journey is the goal.
The class curriculum (stretching, pranayama and meditation) was perfect. The Dharana practices were different each day making it very interesting. The difference between trying to analyze what we are feeling and simply observing it was key to the whole experience.
– Sridevi Kadari
I had a wonderful yoga and meditation class with Subash Sir. My first experience with meditation was completely perfect!
– Shivani Ramesh
This was my first class but definitely not my last. The class totally exceeded my expectations both mentally and physically. The philosophy behind the postures, the importance of breathing properly and what to expect when building your meditation practice.
– Nichole Freeman
14 days meditation intensive, was a very fruitful, very positive and enlightening learning experience with Subash Ji. Starting a day with asana, pranayama and meditation was a really good practice that I have experienced during this course, and I feel calm and very focused on my work throughout the day and I don’t even feel tired at the end of the day, I will definitely continue this practice at home.
Subash Ji is an excellent, knowledgeable teacher I love the way of teaching. What I appreciate was the different method of meditation and Philosophy of yoga, that way you’ll have a choice to pick one whichever works for you. I must say if you wanna learn yoga and meditation he is the right person.
– Deepti Pradhan
Wonderful! Connecting with Breath through Pranayama techniques; Sense withdrawal and visualization through Dharana practices; Focus development through Mantra Meditation & Backward counting. All in all the content & practice flow from beginning to end is a well thought out framework.
– Jaya Pillai
Excellent!1. Consistency of practice is key; 2. Yoga is so much more than just asana practice; 3. Early morning practice ensures it gets done before “”life”” gets in the way 🙂 It was surprising how much easier it was during the second intensive to get up early (I attended the pranayama intensive in August).
It was a well organized intensive with a nice balance between mindful movement, breathing and meditation. As I said before the fee is on the lower end which is appreciated as it will never be the reason for someone not attending an intensive program.
– Erin Flanagan
Amazing 14 day Meditation Journey: I have just completed my second experience with Subhash, and it has again been a life influencing experience. I appreciate Subhash’s focus, wisdom and purposefulness in sharing his knowledge of yoga’s asana, pranayama and meditation with a focus in this class on strengthening our understanding and endurance for meditation. My experience is that this class amplified me more than t21 Day Yoga Challenge, which was life changing for me. I appreciate that I benefited and needed the 21 Day Yoga as a basis and foundation to fully extract maximum value from this class. Thank you Subhash for your selfless attention to my learning, gentle yet firm guidance and overarching wisdom. I look forward to continuing my journey and learning at home and of course with you!
– Manal El-Ramly
So very enjoyable! I got a much better understanding of Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi; Pranayama is an important part of getting to a meditative state.
– Brenda Cleveland
Amazing! 1. Importance of meditation along with asanas 2. Proper techniques 3. Discipline
– Sushant Patil
“Trying to relieve stress from daily life routine. I am confident in getting there with this class as the first step. Definitely transforming the way I see my daily life in the last 2 weeks.” “Understood the techniques of doing Meditation and pranayama. Practice everyday at home.”
– Manoj Damodaran
Great, I was looking forward to start my day early and do yoga to start the day. This program is helping even though its still a struggle to work around other commitments.
– Raj Chandran
Excellent!!! “Meditation is the most important part in the yoga practice. Excellent!!! “Meditation is the most important part in the yoga practice. Commitment Discipline “
– Sajini Nair
Awesome! A proper flow of Asana, pranayama and meditation routine is set.
– Ragapriya Eswaragoundan
This class more than met my expectations. I enjoyed each day and new helpful information was presented in each class in a way that helped me assimilate it. You are a wealth of knowledge and I thank you for sharing it with us. Your devotion to Yoga and your students is a great gift to us. This class was a gift to myself to try to reclaim my meditation practice and hopefully improve it.
Meditation is easy to describe, yet hard to do. (1) The focus on dharana practices helped me a lot as I did not really understand how to do sufficient preparation to make meditation easier and more enjoyable. (2) Explaining that meditation comes first, pranayama second and, asana third in priority is profound for me. (3) Thank you for giving us the tools and structure to build a home practice. It is surprising when we have repeated practices so many times that questions still arise at home. I feel much more calm, have been sleeping very well, getting a lot done each day, remaining more focused on each task, managing my time better, enjoyed getting up at 5:15 each morning to get to class, learned I can get up early if I go to bed early. Now I am eating less food, chewing more and eating less at night. This is great because lately I have noticed my digestion at night impairing my sleep, something I never experienced until the last few months. I have made much progress – I remember telling you there was no way I could hop out of bed and start doing asana – that my body would not allow it. Now I happily do that without strain. I look forward to it. Everything is getting easier.
The immersion classes such as this one seem to have many peripheral unexpected benefits. I am now more comfortable sitting on the floor.
– Sherri Harmon
It was a good experience as I learnt more than what I had expected. The theoretical knowledge bundled with the techniques brought things in perspective. Subhashji made it look very simple as he gave us lot of options and now we can pick and choose to make it our practice . He also made it clear what is the the goal and how to achieve it and there are no rigid rules but there are certain guidelines to follow .
I just had my eye check up. Though I don’t have high number but still my vision has improved so would be buying new glasses now 🙂 Thank you Subhashji.
– Bhavna Sharma
Very Useful. Three main takeaways: 1. Thoughts will come, just do not hold on to it
2. What we understand as “Guided Medittaion” is really the “Dhaarana” part which is really a preparation for actual “Dhyaana” part of meditation.
3. The Dhyaana part of meditation is where we can use our personal Mantra.
Suggestions for future programs:
1. Have 3 days dedicated to a complete mock trial of Praanayama-Meditation-Yoga combination (minus discussion) which the student can duplicate at home. Having a “rehearsal” flow will help solidify the practicalities of a routine to follow.
2. Also, offer another “Advanced” Course only for those who have completed all 3 individual programs which already had theory plus practice. In the advanced, it will just be practice and very, very minimum theory.
– Uma Venkatraman
I found the meditation intensive to be a good complement to the pranayama intensive. The overlap between the two was good for repetition and helping to remember all of the new terminology, especially the Sanskrit names. I am glad to have taken both of these courses. I have been meditating for awhile and have tried many techniques, but this was the first formal instruction I have had on meditation. The biggest take away for me was the concept that as you get closer to the state of Samadhi, the mantra will have less importance and eventually will dissolve and not be needed. This was a key concept that I have not seen anywhere else and one that I had a great deal of confusion over. I have looked into using a mantra before and also done research on vipassana style, which says just to observe the body and don’t attach to anything. I always thought the two methods contradicted each other until it was mentioned that the mantra will dissolve eventually. This really brought a lot of my reading and practice together. Thank you!
I would like to see a course that touches on the Katha Upanishad, how the 5 senses contribute to the fluctuations of the mind, and more techniques on how to tame those thoughts.
– Scott Hicks
Very professionally taught. Always on time. Explained the principles behind the asanas, pranayama and meditation and got me interested to learn about this ancient science of yoga. His website integralyogastudio.com has an abundant wealth of information for his students. Totally the 2 weeks session was a very enriching experience. The group dynamics was also very good!
I learned that yoga is actually a combination of asanas, pranayama, and meditation. Although the morning classes were initially a bit daunting, that is the best time for practice, keeps the energy level high throughput the day. Determined to make it as my home practice also.
– Sudha Sundaram
I came to the program with a good feedback from another friend and was not disappointed. My intention was to learn practices to achieve mental quietness which can lead into meditation. Both the practicals (Asanas, pranayama and methods of dharana) was well balanced with theory behind each and compliment well with Vedentic teachings which I am reasonably well versed with. I always felt cheerful and energetic throughout the day after the program.”
My takeaways: “Nirayntarya abhyasa (constant practice) is very important. Mind is very difficult to control and runs in all directions even with small hints of sensory inputs,so again practice is needed for progress but it can brought within a limited field of your focus (mantra and its meaning) by practice. As mind is wedded to body, body too has control over mind and a body trained through asana followed by pranayama helps to achieve a quiet mind to start your Dharana practice”
– Hari Ganapathy
Intensive gave me more awareness in my life and yoga practice. I try to keep the consciousness in all my acts. I started to ask myself whether I use the intellect or ego in my days situations. It gives me the sense more stability and peace. My meditations became longer and deeper. They give me more energy and vitality.
I intend to have my 1.5 hours daily yoga practice with 20 min meditation. I started to read the book “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle with interest. I integrate the Pranayama and Meditation’s techniques, recommended Subhash, in my own yoga classes.
Both, Pranayama and Meditation Intensives gave the revolutionary impact in my life. I want to study using the bandhas in the yoga practice more.
– Nina Ellis
Really enjoyed the meditation intensive!
– Ana Cardia
Excellent program. Learned different techniques of dharna.Would like more sessions with longer meditation sessions.

Absolutely Stunning. Three takeaways: Wake up early morning, Reduced stress, Increased energy!

I learned so much because you are so giving with your knowledge! Meditation is the main point to yoga, that there is nothing wrong with me because of my major monkey mind, and that all I have to do is sit down and meditate and I can do that anywhere at anytime. The way that the classes are taught where exercises had a reason to be done and the mind understands the effect on itself, therefore the physical aspect, it is extremely important. The approach to connect with other practitioners, where everybody for different reasons want to improve, heal, help their own situation, encourage each person to continue this endevour pursuing a better self. Yoga Retreat Feedback
My overall experience was fantastic. Subhash ji is an amazing teacher who leads by example. He is a kind and patient teacher with an immense wealth of knowledge. The program had a perfect balance of asana practice, pranayama, meditation and classroom learning. I returned home rejuvenated and with a greater appreciation for the overall yogic philosophy. Asana practice is only a part of the complete picture, with practice you will get better at meditation and don’t let your ego push your body. I’m a vegan and was pleasantly surprised to see vegan options at every meal! My room was perfect. Couldn’t have asked for anything more.
– Pooja Aphale
Very positive.
Take-aways: A) Repeating the various asana postures over several days helped to memorize them well and I could feel their benefits when waking up or walking. B) combination of meditation and asana makes a lot of sense. Particularly since I practice insight meditation, which stresses mindfulness through mind body awareness. C) I’m struggling with understanding the benefits of pranayama.
Suggestions: More background related to benefits of pranayama. Why and how does it help. What’s different vs cardio exercise, etc.
– Christof Fahr
Perfect. I learned a lot about the yoga sutras and also new yoga poses. My key take away is to be calm, be happy, life is as it is.Perfect.
Rooms were good. My fan kept making noise and I could not sleep. The food was not as good as 2023. For vegan and vegetarians please ask them to not do ‘vegan sausage’ or vegan chicken etc as the flavors and texture are like meat. I almost vomited on trying one. Last year had more healthy clean options for vegans.
Suggestions: 1. Keep the venue at the beach pavilion, the room we were in was very dusty. The feedback from each participant at the end derails the mental calm developed over 2 days and burns time.
– Ash Shah
Wonderful Regular practice of 8 limbs of yoga is key.
– Clare Lewis
I enjoyed the asanas, the philosophical teachings, the setting and the sangha that was created.
Take-aways: “1. Reflection at end of asana practice to see if ego was involved; 2. It was really useful understanding the wide range of historical philosophical teachings in Indian culture; 3. Om chanting”. Loved the facility. If only we had access to sattvic, vegetarian, desi food, it would be perfect.
Recommendations: “1. Please encourage turning off cellphones and buzzers during asana practice and talks, both as an act of kindness to oneself and allow attention to gather and also as act of generosity to others; 2. Maybe restricting photos to the last day? Since we’re trying not to identify with the body but only learn to nurture it to health, what is the point of endless photos in various poses? The ego wants to pose, compare, admire, can we allow the ego to settle during the retreat? 3. I would have liked more free time to pursue exercise, meditation, further study. “
– Anita Shivadas
Excellent, five stars, superlative. Asanas, Pranayama, Dhyana.
– Chandan Sen
This was my first experience attending a retreat of this nature. It was overwhelmingly positive, providing valuable insights, enabling me to connect with new people, and fostering potentially lasting relationships with like-minded individuals. Key Insights:
- Meditation is an indispensable (non-negotiable) practice
- Mastering the meditation journey: Progressing from Dharana to Dhyana.
- Grasping the fundamental principles of Kundalini, complemented by discussions on YSP.
– Arvind Subramaniam
Excellent! Make time first for Meditation, second for Pranayam and third for Asanas You are not your body, your profession etc. Food, accommodation, surroundings were excellent
– Vasudha Gupta
It was great to deepen the yoga asana practice and learn more about yoga philosophy. Practice Pranayama and Meditation first every morning before anything else. Use the Candle flame meditation technique with my children. Facility was great and all the arrangements were great. Most of the folks were from the RTP area so may be a facility closer to RTP area.
– Charu Haberstroh
This experience was transformational. Subhashji simplified concepts and taught us in a such a way that we absorbed them and felt motivated to implement in our daily lives. He also made it fun! It was a very safe and encouraging environment for everyone and lots of bonds were developed. Subhashji teaches the essence of the yoga sutras that enables one to have the best life NOW with ease. Mind is controlled by intellect and ego, meditation and pranayama are essential to daily practices, giving to others without expectations is the way of life. Everything was great.
– Ash Shah
I don’t have words to describe the experience and knowledge I gain in this retreat. This will stay with me for a long time. Subhashji, I cannot thank you enough for all the knowledge you have given us. You are a true Patanjali for us! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. The group we had was amazing and I hope we can recreate the same magic here in triangle. I am honored and humbled to be in your presence the last few days. Thank you all for that
– Kalpana Chudasama
Concept of Sutra and other teachings provided by Subhash were Wonderful overall.
– Chie Hiyama
Awesome! “1) Practice daily at least the breathing and meditation, and asana as possible2) Awareness of ego versus intelect, 3) Keep learning from Subhash. He is a great guru.
– Elvira Chiritescu
It was just wonderful. “1. To do meditation daily. 2 . Learn more Mind – body connection..3 Not to let ego takeover intellect.” It was extremely good and I was very happy.
– Anuradha Yerriswamy
It was such a privilege to have participated in this retreat. I had come for some me-time, for some feeding and caring for me and I definitely got that. But what I got in addition is invaluable. The camaraderie and the fun this group shared in the last 3 days will remain a part of my beautiful memories for a very long time. I learnt so much from each of you. Thank you all.
Subhash ji, thank you for being such a wonderful teacher and facilitating the nurturing of these strong communities that will perpetuate your passion for yoga.
– Bina Thakkar
“EXCELLENT! Loved the community you have built Subhash and your commitment of what the sutras look like in human form! The commitment and dedication to understanding these principals and show other’s how to possibly live better has been so instrumental. I have done all three for three days now, breath work, asana and meditation. SO much to see when the physical eyes are closed! The location was perfect, rooms were very comfortable and CLEAN; food was very nice. “
– Marianne Schneeberger
I truly enjoyed the yoga retreat! It was such a joyfull experience, the group was fun to be with, Subhash’s classes were so grounding and enlightening as always! The place at the beach was very nice too. I had a delightful time, what a lovely experience it was! Looking forward to joining again next year! “Being humble: there is so much I still have to learn! It is not about doing yoga, but living yoga! Yoga is not just about the asanas, but the yamas, niyamas, in everything we do!
Meditation is always the most important part! ” “Facility was great, what a perfect location! I enjoyed the place, the room was nice and clean, loved the surroundings with nature!
The food was the one thing I would change, not all of it was enjoyable
– Ana Cardia
beneficial physically and mentally; pranayama, meeting new people, increase self care excellent!
– Claire Stuebe
Wonderful – as usual! The study of yoga is a life-long journey and one must ‘keep at it’. The facility was great; very clean and air conditioned. The food was OK, but it would be wonderful to have one evening dinner catered in if we could arrange that. I appreciated having the coffee/tea/milk available throughout the day, as they provided.
– Laura Cappelletti
It was a fantastic experience Learnt pranayama. Learnt about the philosophy of yoga. Have a list of books I want to read and learn more. Loved the group engagement Facility and living arrangements was very good. Food was okay not bad.
– Kalpna Ramji
Excellent, beyond expectations. 1. Learning about yoga Concepts by Saint Patanjali’s Yog Sutras 2. Meditation techniques 3. Serine environment and friendly participants. Facility was great. Food was okay, living arrangements were fine.
– Purnima Kotiya
My overall experience was great, very positive. 1. Self discipline 2. Do everything mindfully 3. Be an inspiration to others. No complains, everything was good. Beautiful surroundings.
– Jyoti Khosla
Fun and intense Yoga experience It takes patience and time to learn Yoga and meditation. Good learning experience. The location was very relaxing, and food is good.
– Vijaya Chadaram
Overall the experience was very beneficial. The sense of peace I felt at the retreat was very promising. I know that the awareness I obtained is invaluable only if I practice it. Subash’s devotion to the practice and his students is evident in a humble way and extremely impactful! The resources that Subhash provided via email after the course are very beneficial when it comes to continuing practice outside of the course.
– Katrina
Very Very beneficial and refreshing. Subhashji is such a dedicated teacher. He taught us patiently and thoroughly. All of the participants were dedicated and the on-class and off-class time were very enlivening!
– Sudha
The retreat to Mebane was truly one of the most memorable experiences of my life. My prior sessions with you, Subhash, were always positive and extremely educational from a professional point of view. Your detailed knowledge of the Sutra’s of Patanjali and overall historical and professional knowledge were on point, never straying to personal opinion. My personal practice deepened and broke through the wall that held me back from moving forward in a healthy productive way.
The location and accommodations were overwhelmingly convenient, consistent and clean. The choice of food for all meals was well balanced as well as generous in portion sizes. Please reach out and thank the folks who participated in donating coffee, tremendous masala teas, cereals, breads, fruit and such. I would have loved to help participate in making a contribution.
The group of ladies and gentlemen who gathered together were very lovely, personable and approachable. I loved the dancing at night!! My ONLY thought would be that all who attend participate in preparation of meal spaces, cleaning, sweeping and taking turns working together in small groups; it’s appropriate that especially with the subject matter that we are learning that the work load- donation of time or dana(?) is shared as part of the practice.
– Marianne
Very awakening. Subhash ji has such a wealth of knowledge to share and goes in depth into each theory and patiently answers any questions you may have. He is very inspirational and has made me understand a realm of yoga that I had never explored before. I’m very fortunate and blessed to have been able to attend the retreat and learn so much from him.
– Pooja
It was really excellent session.
– Bharat
It was a wonderful experience overall with a good amount of time dedicated for Asana practice as well as Pranayama and a little bit of meditation as well! The camaraderie among the attendees was excellent and I enjoyed my stay!
– Arvind
Great experience. I enjoyed learning more about the sutras, practicing yoga, getting to meet new people and eating lots of great food.
– Brenda
Very excellent experience, beyond my expectations
– Jyoti
Fulfilling and good!
– Anju
I enjoyed my second retreat with Subhash and the group at Lakulish last weekend. I already had an understanding of the content, but I still learned new things and it was a great “kick-start” to my personal practice this spring, as I expected!
– Laura
It was one of my best ME time experience I ever had, I do understand importance of the family, but having something like this once or twice a year improves us to energize more and have more quality life with family and friends. We had great time during 2.5 day session. Retreat is filled with lot of yoga every day to get better experience. I am very delightful with the way Subhash Ji explained about Patanjali and mind.
– Venkat
It would not be an exaggeration to say that the retreat was a life-changing experience, because I truly came away from it a different (and hopefully better) person. I have always been deeply interested in yoga, but had stalled out for one reason or another. Since the retreat, I have been practicing every day, and I have found myself using some of the concepts from our lectures in my daily life. The retreat was one of the most joyful experiences I’ve had a in a long time. The other participants were kind and interesting people, and I felt comfortable being myself around them. Subhash’s teaching was one of the major highlights of the retreat for me as well. It was thorough and engaging, and he allowed us ample opportunities to discuss what we were learning. I have noticed that, even though we learned a lot in a short amount of time, the concepts were reinforced so well that I’ve been able to take them home and use them meaningfully. I am so grateful to have been able to be part of this wonderful retreat.
I was blown away by the food, especially. It was so fresh and nourishing, and the people at the ashram were so generous with feeding us. I enjoyed the sleeping arrangements. It was nice having a restroom in our room, plus another one in the hall in case you didn’t want to disturb your roommate. The building and grounds were very clean and nicely kept, and it was a relaxing place to stay.
Major takeaways: That the ego is the source of most of the things that cause problems in my life, the importance of pranayama, and a better understanding of the 8 limbs of yoga.
Also, the reasonable price was one of the things that persuaded me to go on the retreat, but I would be happy to pay more for the next one. We received so much value for what we paid -too little
– Christina
Wonderful! Thank you for facilitating such a magnificent time of reflection and community. I felt a lot of my resentment towards my ongoing physical pain and the ending of a relationship melt away over the course of the weekend for which I am very grateful. I look forward to attending an intensive series with you in the future. I LOVED the food and the lotus pond. Was perfectly satisfied with my room as well.
Major takeaways: 1) It’s a combination of movement, breath, and meditation that are needed to steady our lives, 2) Detaching from the hustle and bustle of life and the memories that we rehash and suffer from is possible with daily practice, 3) Connecting with a community of strangers is a very special and to be cherished experience.
I would like a printed copy of the incantations and key Sanskrit terms. Also, I would still attend if timing was shifted, but I think I preferred the Thursday – Sunday schedule we had this time around as I imagine myself being a bit stressed to drive and then go directly to work on Monday.
– Anne
Incredible, emotional. We covered a lot of material in a short period of time. Would love to have continued 3 more days…a month? 🙂 I entered duration as just right as a minimum time…for me it was not enough…I mean, no! It was perfect…enough 🙂 aparigraha , Santosa…very sattvic experience. Wonderful food!! Rooms were comfortable and provided everything we needed. Facility was beautiful, esp. the outdoors. The walls and gates and security cameras made me feel a little uneasy at first…I forgot about them eventually…too bad we live in a world where we need to put up walls. Did I say I loved the food and the people preparing it! Om Sri dhanvantre namaha
Major takeaways: 1.) Abhyasa and vairagya 2.) purifying the mind, sutra (1.2) 3.)control emotions and thoughts with pranayama, weaken samskaras
– Mary
Very insightful and beneficial in mind, body and spirit. It was a nice environment for a retreat, the food was very good and the people who prepared it were so considerate of my request for no salt food.
Major takeaways: 1. Additional understanding gained from breathing practice. 2. The collective energy of the groups impact. Inspiring sense of well being to be with that many like minded people for that length of time. Awesome group of people. 3. The importance and good fortune to have a person that knows, teaches and lives what Subhash offers. The depth of his practice and knowledge is an inspiration to commit to learn, incorporate and practice more.
– Denise
Very good! Food and facility was fine.
Major takeaways: Sanskrit as critical to thinking about the Sutras and understanding how the meaning inherent in the words defines the lesson. The unquestionable importance of Pranayama in the practice.
– Sarah
Excellent! I loved how close this facility is to home. Everything was great and the weather was perfect. Major takeaways: Practice daily. Most important — pranayama and meditation. Settle in with what is and connect to all.
– Brenda
Great!
– Eleanor
Found the retreat very positive and motivating. Answer to why we need to practice yoga and role of ego in our life. Overall very nice. Would have liked better phone connectivity. Not having internet probably helped us focus better.
– Anish
"An amazing gift. The yoga retreat took my practice and yoga knowledge to the next level.
Three take-aways: "1. That yoga is much more than the physical poses;
2. Breathing is the key to peace and energy;
3. A better understanding of ""the ego"" and how to try to participate in life without it’s strong presence."
Facility: The Ashram is wonderful. The beds were amazingly comfortable ! 🙂 It felt like being "at home".
– Kristen Daniels
"What a wonderful experience! If the stress of daily living has become overwhelming or you simply want to reconnect to what is important, this is the perfect opportunity! The entire experience is nourishing to the body, mind and soul. The experience was truly a gift to my spirit! "
There is so much more to yoga than the physical practice. Not only does Subhash share his knowledge of yoga philosophy, he models the behaviors he teaches.
This experience served as a positive reminder of the power of self care and the positive impact consistent practice and mindfulness can have on my life. The casual, easy conversation with other participants was also a reminder of the importance of surrounding ourselves with positive energy! "
The center was wonderful-peaceful and serene. I felt very welcome and at peace here. The food was wonderful! I’d love to learn more about the ingredients and preparation methods. "
-Kathy Kondas
"I had a lovely experience. I especially liked the time spent on yoga philosophy. Subhash presented the information in a way that encouraged conversation rather than it feeling like a lecture. The conversation was dynamic and had room for all questions at every level of understanding.
The food was fantastic. As a vegetarian, it is nice to have the oppurtunity to try various new foods without having to get the list of ingredients first."
– Elizabeth Reilly
"I enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the ashram and the friendliness of the ashramites. Reinforcement of yoga and pranayama practices and of courses the discourses and yoga by Swamiji. He was very friendly and easy to talk to.
The facility is very good and I am sure will be better after the renovation. The garden is very inviting for meditation.
The home baked bread was a treat. Thank you."
– Sudha Iyer
"Subhash, I would like to say that I had an absolutely wonderful time at the retreat. I will definitely be attending another one, if offered in the future.
Met wonderful people, Swami, staff, and other attendees.
The food was absolutely delicious; however, I would have like to have eaten earlier in the day for dinner."
– Terry Elder
"I had a great time! I’d definitely do it again!
1. I needed to hear the difference between acceptance and resignation.
2. I thought that what you said about stress – that we can choose to let something bother us or not – was pretty profound!
3. I must remember that yoga is not just exercise, it’s to prepare the body for meditation.
Lovely grounds. The food was good, but I wish there was a card with ingredients. I have food allergies, and I’m sure others do to. I was afraid everything was going to be too spicy for me, but it wasn’t."
– Julie Ward
YSP Intensive Feedback
Subhash ji has done quite a lot of research and has enormous knowledge about yoga. He has great teaching skills too. These sessions are great for people who would like to understand what the real yoga is about and to learn and understand the concepts of yoga. This will help you implement the concepts in life which can make your life stress-free and builds your character which can eventually give you the real happiness.
– Sphurthy Gangapuram
This is a hidden gem class. Not many people are familiar with this knowledge. It is amazing that someone put together these sutras on how to cleanup your mind, body and life.
I am finding that this knowledge brings extra emphasis to Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation practice. Knowledge and practice should go together in my opinion. It is easy to find a teacher who can teach us practicing yogasana part but so difficult to find someone with relevant knowledge.
This class was a great gift to myself. I highly recommend this class to anyone who is in the path of Yoga/Spirituality the next time it is offered.
– Venu Kadari
As I had no real knowledge of the Sutras, this was a bit overwhelming and yet beautiful – as if a Golden Light had been shed on my spiritual journey. I am very grateful for this experience.
– Linda Griffin
This was wonderful. Engaging. Informative. Everything! Purusha and prakriti – how prakriti arises from the proximity of the unchanging Purusha. The levels of samadhi. The importance of practice, staying the path, using the scripture to bring you back if you lose your way.
– Becca Michael
YSP Intensive course has been an eye opener for all the participants in to the theory and the objectives of Yoga practice. “1. Many concepts are uncluttered and clarified.YSP Intensive course has been an eye opener for all the participants in to the theory and the objectives of Yoga practice. “1. – Prabhu Bontala
Wonderful!!! Learning the Sanskrit, learning the main themes, learning the practices Perfect.
– Chandni Roderiguez
Excellent! Breathe. Center. Be kind.
– Clare Lewis
Awesome!
– Bina Thakkar
inspired. informed. powerpoint, i will continue to read over. website as resource.
– Meg Flaherty
Fabulous! Extremely grateful for this class. I have learnt a lot during the class. In my opinion this is a hard subject. I think very few people in the World can deliver as well as you do on this complex subject. We are so fortunate! Found a path to follow! Realized importance of meditation! I need to keep coming back. “There is enormous amount of knowledge to cover in a 2 week session. Perhaps consider splitting into two classes. Offer several introductory classes on YSP and make only those who have taken introductory 2-week class eligible for advance course. May be 3 beginner courses and 1 advanced course. Advance course once every year or so. Beginner courses may be once every 3 months.
Like many participants mentioned, your ability to group related material is of immense value to participants. Anything you can do to ease you going back and forth during the class and participants being able to follow when listening to recordings will be helpful. I listened to several recordings, it is not easy to go back to the location you are referring to. I have combined all the PDFs into one file for searching ability which helps some.
– Venu Kadari
Wonderful experience!!! I would definitely want to learn more. I can’t appreciate enough Subhashji for offering YSP course! I understood that practicing yoga is a lot more than the asanas and pranayama. Understanding and applying yoga sutra concepts in daily life would definitely help us to overcome life obstacles! Thank you Subhashji for giving me a wonderful learning experience!
– Sajini Nair
Awesome! Important takeaways: 1. Discussion and additional email on ahimsa and eating meat 2. The tie in to other texts like the Bhagavad-Gita on certain topics 3. Discussion on the power of the ego and how it sorts life into likes and dislikes.
The “higher level “ stuff was saved for the end which is great. I feel like this left the majority of the time to the applicable portions of the YSP like enacting the yamas and niyamas, and balancing of the gunas. I really enjoyed learning about this because it’s hard to get this kind of depth out of a book. My brain doesn’t work that way. Thank you so much for sharing your efforts and extensive knowledge.
-Erin Flanagan
Blissful, Satisfied!! I am blessed to have found this course as we were able to cover the broad topics of the sutras with never a dull moment and the curiosity to learn more increased each day. One of the greatest benefits I got from this course is to understand that the true value of yoga is found when you actually apply and relate it to your daily life. Each one of us have a different level of understanding and Subhashji was able to explain clearly so it’s understood from the ground level for beginners. It is pretty fascinating to know how much depth is in these sutras that were written thousands of years ago and still applicable to the modern age.
I could not have asked for a better experienced teacher than Subhashji to help us appreciate the layers of complexity in the text and apply the meaning to our day to day life.
– Sridevi Kadari
Excellent! Important takeaways: Practice, Continue reading the sutras, Discipline required to advance Continuous repetition of the sanskrit terms and definitions.
– Akila Nayak
I enjoyed early morning routine which calmed me down a lot and gave me strength to stay active entire day. Also learned so much on Sutras. To achieve the mental peace, I should not only go for Ashanas but understand importance of eight limbs of Yoga and live life accordingly to go deeper into spirituality aspects. According to me the entire format was just right.
– Jyoti Mehta
I enjoyed the class and getting back into an early morning routine. Helped me better understand the importance of pratyahara in everyday living; better understanding of mantra meditation; the importance of everyday practice. Sound quality could be better.
– Brenda Cleveland
I enjoyed the course. Subash ji combined 30 mins yoga and 1 hr philosophy. This made me concentrate better in the morning. Since course was in morning, timing for me is better since the kids are sleeping so no distractions. This is first time I heard about Patanjali yoga, before the course I was think yoga is more about stretching and breathing but after going through the course I realized importance of meditation.
– Srikanth Venkanagari
Wonderful! I found an error in my interpretation, and gained new insights, and enjoyed conversing with folks bout my favorite book.
– Lea Peace
“Establising home practice” Intensive Feedback
Enriching and refreshing. Practicing with a master teacher, excellent directions and suggestions for modifications and variations; a genuine experience of a full yoga practice. Don’t forget to record. 🙂
– Janis Phelps
The 10 day class helped me to start the day fresh, energized and with a positive mindset. There was also an overall feeling of well being which remained for most part of the day. The consistency of the routine through out the 10 days gave me the confidence to establish this as a home practice. Online option was convenient and the class timings were perfect. Overall, this was an amazing experience for me.
– Malini Kutti
I thoroughly enjoyed this intensive! The other intensives were fun because we learned so many new things, but this one gave us the experience of developing a deep understanding of several practices by repeating them daily. I started to feel different sensations and get new insights into each pose as we did them each day, and this made me feel more motivated to continue practicing. I also enjoyed our after-class discussion sessions greatly.
– Christina Thompson
Made me more active during the day, feel flexible with the body, improvement in aches and pains that I had before taking the class. Helped me figure out my issues and solutions with breathing techniques. Motivated me to continue yoga on my own after the 10-day session. “Overall a very positive experience; Provides muscle strength, flexibility, and focus; Makes us more knowledgeable learning about what parts of the body are positively affected by asanas, and pranayama. Will recommend to everyone”
– Vandana Gavini
“(1) Combination of asanas, pranayama and dhyana in one session was great
(2) The program being offered in the morning was great. I like going through the routine without distractions and delays caused due to other parts of my life.
(3) Love that I can attend virtually. Saves a lot of time and encourages me to dedicate that time to me. Even though it was virtual, I could feel the support from my fellow participants and my teacher :-). I hope you continue offering these virtual sessions even after things go back to “”normal””.
– Bina Thakkar
Very good holistic, well rounded practice with all 3 components The session was well structured to exercise various parts of the body, breath and mind. I would like to see a Surya Namaskar that is the same in all the rounds, with the remaining asanas done afterwards. Makes it more predictable and easy to remember for home practice later.
– Shanthi Ravindran
Great session I am practicing everyday, learnt meditation techniques and I see the benefits of pranayama.
– Krish Chari
I enjoyed it thoroughly ! Though it was difficult because of new routine (waking up earlier) but it showed a significant positive impact on my day overall.
“1. Will try to make pranayam and meditation a part of my practice as it helped me keep my stress level down for the day. 2. Regular asana practice helped me cope with stiffness that was bothering me before the sessions. 3. With yoga done early in the day, helps me in planning the rest of the day without worrying about trying to fit in the daily exercise.”
– Tanu Sharma
Been a new and very satisfying experience for me. So glad i took this class. Asana’s according to our level, breathing according to our capacity and A good relaxation of our mind achievable after taking this class.
– Pallavi Rao
Excellent Breathing very important during asanas, pranayama is purification, asanas to be done at comfortable level and improve with practice. I think the blend of asanas, pranayama and meditation in the time format presented is excellent.
– Yusuf Matcheswala
Beautiful! Create a daily habit.
– Chandni Roderiguez
Wonderful! “1) Love the format with focus on Asanas, Pranayama and meditation. I am going to make an effort to incorporate in my daily lifestyle.”
– Shilpa Govind
Very good! I am already doing yoga every day. Firms up the practice even more. Yoga Nidra is something I am unable to do on my own. Very helpful for Yoga Nidra and firming up Meditation practice.
– Venu Kadari
Very positive experience with a really good foundation and resources to help with my practice at home. Proper Breathing during asanas, awareness of body and mind, concepts related to mind and meditation and how the dharana & dhyana practice helps with overall well being It’s a well thought out program. For a beginner asanas from multiple angles (side , front & back camera) would be useful.
– Satish Penmethsa
Surya Namaskara Sadhana Feedback
Enjoyed intensive very much. Reviewing all basic steps, combining some variations with basic steps and Mantras, were a new learning for me. I try practicing Surya Namaskar daily ( 6 rounds ), by repeating 6 mantras in mind for 6 basic steps along with inhaling and exhaling. Since playing recorded mantras in Intensive was an enjoyable experience and I could focus more on breathing and steps, so, I plan to try out by playing recorded mantras. Felt good energy all through the day. Thus able to carry through daily activities easily. As it is the Intensive was very thorough and comprehensive in nature. Liked very much the OM Meditation.
– Manjusri Basu
I have a wonderful experience attending the workshop. I always loved doing Surya Namaskar but doing it with you and the group along with Mantra chanting was another level of experience. The learning Pranayama was extremely rewarding experience. I always have this feeling that I can’t do any breathing exercise but how you taught it changed my view. I plan to continue to get better at this. Resilience, Self awareness and being with wonderful and positive people. I am not a morning person but taking this class and coming every day gave me so much strength even though I so wanted to skip a class. You have such a positive and calm motivating aura. Breakfast brunch made me feel that you are building such a beautiful community. I loved everything class has to offer. Please continue to incorporate different things especially Pranayama in the class
– Pragati Sonker
Wonderful consistency and determination to do it everyday! It can be super meditative
– Ruchita Kapadia
Was a wonderful experience. Great clarity on what how and why we are doing each asana. Posture correction, understood reason behind few moves and as always refreshing.
– Karthik Kumarasamy
It was really good joining the week long intense Surya Namaskar program. In a week I learned all three core thing like Meditation, pranayam it’s tricks/tips and stretching through Surya Namaskar. Subhashji have very good way of teaching skills to any amature like me and bring them to upto certain level. He personally comes to you and tell you the right way of doing things and gives personal attention. I highly recommend everyone who ever is looking to learn Yoga please take lessons with Subhashji, who is very knowledgeable, gives personal attention to each every participant. Punctually and consistently do Yoga in daily basis, at least Kapalbhati and pranayam to be healthy.
– Aruna Vishwanath
Excellent! Regularity of practice, breathing techniques, sequence of breathing in sync with SN Indicate/suggest which variations might be done before sequence starts (e.g. 2 warrior 1, then 2 warrior 2, then 2 trikon, etc.)
– Suparna Kanjilal
Loved the Surya Namaskara 10 days! “12 rounds of Surya Namaskara as a great morning asana practice when I am sort on time. I also loved learning about which chakras to focus attention during the SN practice! And the origins and other things you shared about the practice during the short lecture times! ” “I find it hard to do some of the poses during the mantras, such as the triangle pose. I would take these classes for 14 days too if they were offered in the future.
– Ana Cardia
“Amazing experience to start the day! Subhashji brings in wealth of knowledge to explain the reason and science behind the yoga practice! We leave the room each day craving for more. ” “1. Amazing workout for mind and body2. Sustained energy for a calm day3. Realized it brought a better breathing and metabolism througout the day.
– Kunal Metkar
It was a wonderful peaceful experience and I can’t wait to join on going classes. To ease into things in everyday life situations just like you ease into asana No improvements class was great
– Ashley Rivera
Excellent. I learned far more than I expected was possible. Subhash shares so much of his expertise. Create a space and time for daily practice. breathing, relaxation are part of yoga. Do what I can, it’s not a competition. “I appreciate the option to rewatch the sessions on YouTube. I had to use small iPad for the actual class sessions. But I have YouTube on large screen for review of each session. My only complaint was time of day, but I am not east coast and can’t expect the time to be altered. I managed it for 10 days, but I’m not sure I could do it for extended course.”

The experience was very positive. I’m very glad I participated! “Chanting the mantras truly deepened the experience for me and enhanced mind/body connection.I learned a lot of new breathing techniques – and appreciated the descriptions of how to do them correctly as well as the benefits.I had a lot more energy throughout the day and another takeaway is to prioritize self-care in the morning and continue the SN routines.

A positive & wonderful experience Coordination of breath with asanas, developing a meditative experience by internalizing the sound of the mantras and having fun!

It challenged me and showed me that I was capable of more than I knew! It strengthened my daily practice. 1. I can DO this! 2. the Gayatri mantra. 3. Learning which chakra to focus on in which position.

I think this course focusing on Suryanamaskar was an excellent idea and I had a great experience. I have always found Suryanamaskar to be the perfect full-body stretching and strengthening routine. In this course, the variations for the poses made the sequence more beneficial and doing it to the mantras made for a very calming, meditative experience. Combined with the pranayama and knowledge shared throughout the course, I found the program very well designed. I also really liked having a choice of mantras, each of which leads to a somewhat different experience. I am very grateful to have done this course! Thank you for offering it! “- Doing 12 Suryanamaskars in a row can be challenging for those who have not done yoga for some time, but it becomes easier after the first couple of days. The pranayama is very essential as I felt it benefits the breathing control one needs to maintain when doing Suryanamaskar 12 times to the mantras- A great all-in-one program with full body benefit, breathing exercises, and meditative component through the mantras.

Hamstring and quad intensive Feedback
Excellent experience. Loved how strengthening this 7 day practice was. And I love the longer workshops but really enjoyed being part of this shorter one. There was plenty of time to cover the topic—lots of poses for the thighs. I need to look up the impact of these poses because I came away feeling much stronger not only in the legs but also in my spirit. Ego is still a problem though.
– Brenda Cleveland
Amazing! Regular practice of these Asanas can definitely improve flexibility of hamstring and quads area.
– Jyoti Mehta
Enjoyable. My hamstring muscles are very tight and require a lot of stretching. Hanuman Asana can be moved to demo only mode or offer alternative asana to practice during this stretch. My muscles are so tight that I cannot get into this asana where I can feel the stretch.
– Venu Kadari
Not surprising that there’s one week intensive focusing on the legs was amazing. It was a great opportunity for seasoned and new yogis to really focus on a specific body part(s). The Progression of the sequence really helped me and I saw a great difference at the end of the week from where I started. Thank you

I loved it This is level 2 yoga for me because my hamstring and chords are tight. As the days passed by I was more comfortable doing it. I will continue doing this going forward. I think this should be 2 weeks course.

Very positive. Learnt lot of detailed posture technique for practcing this group of Aanas. Practicing yoga helps me both physically and mentally.
– Manjusri Basu
It was an excellent workshop. I have been practicing yoga for many years and this program helped me get back into the discipline of doing breathing and Asana practice that I had not been incorporating in my daily routine Give yourself time and make the commitment for daily practice, breathing exercises must be integrated in daily practice.

Hip opening intensive Feedback
This was a great class. It was very well balanced. I can already tell a big difference in my hip flexibility, and I look forward to watching the videos again.
– Nancie Benson
I truly enjoyed this deep focus on the hips. So often, our yoga practice flows in auto-pilot and we tend to do poses we like and not necessarily poses we need. This intensive tackled many poses that that most may not want to try. But the great thing about this intensive was the variations and options to every pose that was offered that made this intensive very accessible to wide range of folks. I noticed a change in my hip flexibility at the end of this session! Flexibility of the hips are important to our overall physical well-being; especially for those that might spend time sitting at a desk. A consistent yoga practice is important. Incorporation of Pranayama and Meditation in addition to Asana creates a well balanced yoga practice.
– Keshini House
The experience was terrific, very beneficial, in more ways than I hoped. I feel I’ve deepened my practice, the breathing exercises and further knowledge of the techniques and benefits of panayama, the asanas have strengthened my body while loosening it and making if more flexible combined with the tremendous resource on yoga and the accessibility of it.
– Dennis Williams
Very good, it was not easy to do all the poses for hip but I tried as much as I could and still found it very helpful. Variations in suryanamaskar poses to focus on hip stretch, and mareechasana are very impactful to give the stretch in hip area, will try to incorporate these steps in regular practice.
-Sumana Ramayanan
