Jyoti Shah
Jyoti is an accomplished yoga teacher with over 15 years of yoga teaching experience. She was born and raised in a yogic Indian household and has been practicing yoga, both on and off the mat, for over 30 years. She received her Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting in India and moved to Raleigh, NC where she did her Bachelor of Science in Business Management.
Jyoti is the founder of YogaSheila in Northwest Cary and has been teaching yoga since 2004. She earned her Yoga Alliance recognized RYT 500 training at the renowned Himalayan Institute, and is a professional yoga teacher with over 2000 hours of teaching experience. Jyoti’s yogic philosophy and teaching style is based on a combination of Kripalu-Style Hatha Yoga and teachings of the living tradition of the Himalayan Institute.
Her teaching encompasses the classical asanas, breath training, breath centered asanas and movement, pranayama, systematic relaxation to access a state of deep inner awareness as preparation for meditative practice, and mindfulness meditation.
Jyoti continues her professional development by attending advance trainings and workshops with the masters and therapists of yoga around the country. She has completed specialized trainings and holds certifications in:

- Yoga for Mood Management (Anxiety and Depression)

Jyoti is currently pursuing her Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification program (MMTCP) under the mentorship of Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. She offers a Mindful Movement program in coordination with a Raleigh-area play therapist.
