I began practicing Yoga 12 years ago at the Iyengar studio in Bangalore under yogi Arun. I was carrying my second child then. The experience was so beautiful that I got addicted to yoga.
After childbirth, I could not wait to get back to practicing yoga. I trained in ashtanga and hatha yoga under various teachers. The most prominent of them was from Soumya, (a gold medalist in yoga). I learnt the various techniques and intricacies involved in asana practice, pranayama and meditation. I started teaching as a sub whenever my teacher was away. I taught in my family and friends circle and to many of those who were absolutely new to yoga.
The unquenchable thirst for yoga led me to do my certification in 2019 from Republic of Yoga under Master yogi Nicole Nichols.
Over the years, I have experienced yoga in different styles like Iyengar, Bikram, ashtanga, Hatha yoga and Pilates. This exposure has not only helped me adapt to various styles, it has helped me to design sequences with many different variations and props.
I personally enjoy building different sequences based on themes and quotes.
Being a mother of a teenager and middle schooler, Yoga is like the icing on the cake without which I am incomplete. It helps me handle everyday life situations with a calm and composed mind.
